sick pay

Post by ankle2010 »

i would like to know if my manager can legally stop my sick pay, i have currently been off work since Monday (2 days) and before that this year i have had 1 week of with sickness. i was under the impression i am entitled to 6 months sick pay.
after visiting the doctor he has advised not to do any walking or driving for 2 weeks, however no support is being given to do other duties within the office.
please advise if my sick pay can be stopped.

many thanks

Not if you have sent in a docs certificate he can't.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

What reason did he give for stopping it?
As Postman said: He has no right to stop your Sick Pay, if you have a "Fit Note", and they've failed to find you something that you can do safely at work. But it would be useful for you to find out what excuse he's using, when you start the fight to have it reinstated.
