Attendance Procedure - Stage 1 (Monitored) - Advice Needed

Hi I was hoping someone with a bit of knowledge on the attendance procedure could clarify this :-

I was placed on a Stage 2 warning in February 2009 and suffered with Swine Flu in December 2009 for a period of 6 days.
(I'd already had it the week before whilst on leave in case anyone thinks Swine Flu lasts longer than a week )
This was logged as 'flu-like symptoms' ( ) and added as a period of sick.
As this was the only absence I had in the 12 months between February 2009 - February 2010, will I be removed from the attendance
procedure completely or will I be monitored on a Stage 1 for a further 12 months (ie. February 2010 - February 2011)?

you should no longer be on the attendance procedure.
the attendance procedure is clear when it says can remain on the procedure for up to 12 months.
I have advised members to write to the manager concerned every month from 6 months after asking it it is possible to be removed from the procedure if they have met the required standards. the procedure is quite clear UP TO 12 months not for 12 months

"if at any stage of the procedure an employee makes the required improvements s/he will be put back to the previous stage for up to 12 months: if during that period the employee meets the standard appropriate to the stage s/he will no longer be under the procedure and his her attendance need not be monitored unless or until the attendance pattern again becomes unsatisfactory, (i.e. the employee fails to meet the appropriate standard)"

Q21 - If an absence could trigger consideration of an attendance warning, does this advice remain the same?

A - Yes it does – you should stay at home if you have the symptoms. RMG must take all practicable steps to reduce transmission of the virus in the workplace. The attendance management procedure continues to apply, as it did during the first wave of the pandemic. Managers are required to consider each case on its merits and Attendance Procedure warnings should never be applied mechanistically.

If you only had 3 days off you would be removed completley from the procedure,But as you had more then you will be dropped down to stage 1 monitoring.

It might have been a good idea to supply each DOM with a dictionary.
Then they might have understood what "should never be applied mechanistically" actually means.
