39 hour week

dos anyone know when the new 39 hour working week is coming in? was told this morning we are not getting WSM in our office as we are too far away from M/C and it would take about 3 years for geo route etc to get to us so our 1in 4 and shorter working week will have to wait till then surley this cant be right

the last offices to get WSM should be 2012, but hey this IS royal mail, so 3 years could indeed be correct

Some offices won't get WSM due to their geographical location.
I think they get their money (transformation lump sum) when the other offices that are fed by the same M/C do get their WSM.

we were also spun the lines of you have to wait until machines arrive and functional in office can anyone confirm this as it is begining to look like rm are only adhering to parts of agreement they like.
all conditions of agreement surely apply
also mngmt had,nt clue about 1 in 4 sats off again saying we dont qualify and by the way we will be summer lapsing in couple of weeks

Still haven't heard much about the menu of options in respect of 1 in 4 either, the 39 hr week should kick in once the machines are installed in your parent
M.C or D.O, lump sum payments are triggered around WSM revision implementation & if they release the savings they are supposed to.

Last October - does that mean you have had W/S since then or are we still talking about the MENU OF OPTIONS

The machines were installed last October/November but didn't go fully live until around february,the menu of options......the machines may be obselete by the time we see those.

the 39 hour week will never be introduced, it can't be done in my office without putting in extra hours and all the managers (up to area) have said we're never getting any extra hours and will instead be losing another 130 hours this year

There is no doubt they do save time stevie and the bonus for RM is in prepping P/T shifts,anybody can now more or less prep any shift as quickly as a duty holder.
The savings on IPS are less noticeable since it's mostly just what used to be walksorted but we are now getting walk sorted flats as well so it is a constant battle to aviod absorbtion.

This one hour reduction is not what it seems,.it will be introduced in two 30 minute blocks. The first thirty minutes . you are supposed to be able to 'save' The next thirty minutes will not be given until certain implementations have been put in place, probably some years down the line. anyone who thought they were to get a full one hour off per week, has been misled.
