BA strikes

Post by clashcityrocker »

Unite have announced 20 days of strike action over the next four weeks.
Dig deep for the cabin crew. (Doesn't have the same ring to it does it?)
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Unite is the union for us. CWU got us all a pay cut and they said it was a great deal.

Stand back first, and observe what happens. Unite have already spouted the usual "we understand the need for change" mantra, to my mind, that means Unite members are well and truly fecked, no matter how many of them strike, no matter how many days they strike.
Now that scumbag Willie Walsh knows Unite's leaders have been hoodwinked into accepting that there must be a savage round of cost-cutting, he just has to bide his time.
If I was a Unite member, I would have been happier if the leadership had told Walsh and his thugs, "OK, by all means do whatever you have to do to drive profits ever upward, but understand this, our members hard-fought for terms and conditions, will never be bargained away, ever."

Oh,oh, Unite have said they'll call off the strikes in return for "meaningful negotiations." Sound familiar?

If I was a c*** like Willie Walsh, I'd be thinking I wasn't up against much.

A strike fund - that sounds like a good idea.
Why didn't we have one?
