I know there was a big who ha a while back about the postman who told some of his customers they can opt out of receiving this litter. He was sacked then reinstated i believe?
Seeing as its every householders choice whether or not they wish to recive D2D's then what is stopping us telling our customers about this option and pointing then in the right direction???
Would be good to get one over on the firm wouldn't it!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Why? Technically there's no risk anymore, previously we would have been losing £20 a week but if it's included in the new weekly pay then we'll get it regardless of whether there are any D2Ds?

I think POSTMAN was referring to the possibility of getting coded ( even if it needs a trumped up charge to do it ), but there would be nothing to stop you having the contact details on your person & volunteering them to a customer that complains about d2ds
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?
Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

I'd have to carry about 480 of them then, almost everyone I speak to hates the bloody things.

What company would keep an employee who's trying to lose them work. I hate the bloody things too, but you have to be careful cos they'll jump on you like a flash.

His right. No one likes them but they do help us keep a job
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
Once the backlash starts, you won't have to do anything.
Thanks to the sensationalist newspapers, the public will be whipped into an anti junk mail frenzy. There will be addresses and phone numbers for them to ring and complain and opt out in the papers. There will be afternoon radio shows devoted to the issue.
Soon, when the public realise they are getting half a dozen leaflets, plus the 10 - 20 they get from those strange leaflet deliverers, they will start writing into the papers, ringing the phone-ins etc. When the backlash starts, we as postmen will love it... then the jobs will start to go.

One thing might slow that scenario down a bit is if an enraged householder beats the snot out of his postman for delivering d2ds - god forbid.

Ok,why don't we go further, let's campaign to close down ebay, that's a gooden, next we can ask all the banks to stop sending out statements and force customers to go online.
After that, let's ask all the magazines to go online only, when we've finished with that, gas leccy and phone,we could do them as well,we could perhaps ask anyone left who sends out mail to stop doing it.
Fish factory anyone?

Royal Mail Opt out is a service offered to the public. I am a Postman, logic tells me if a member of the public complains about D2D , then it is my right to inform them of the service RM offers , to stop them . Same with Redi, Keepsafe, Local collect and any other service we offer. simples.
They can give me 50 d2d's each house, 30 specials, 40 recorded, 200 other packets, a bloody council tax bill for every house. I finish at 14.00, no overtime, no worries, give me your worst Royal Mail. Do your job by the book, doesn't matter what they give you.
