How was this lump sum calculated?
Several colleagues! (Part time 25hr leave reserves) are very very p$ssed about this at our place because a few people who have only been with RM just over 12 months have recieved bigger sums than people who have worked with the company over 3 years!
Was it an worked out against the duties completed by the individual over a certain period of time? Overtime completed?
If RM want us to start with this new fond relationship, i feel it's got off on the wrong foot!

Re: Lump sum varying!
Well there seems to be some confusion, apparently the negotiators knew the formula, so did Royal Mail, the CWU and Roger Poole from ACAS and probably Brendan Barber from the TUC - inadvertently they didn't mention it to the membership - hey you can't get everything right when there isbigtee wrote:How was this lump sum calculated?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Surely you wouldn't be expecting to be paid for all hours worked - although I did think that was RMs mantra - still only when it suits apparently.Spedley wrote:... but capped at 40.Royal Mail wrote: when deciding on the right amount to pay to part timers, we look at the actual hours worked over the last year, rather than contracted hours, so that if you work additional hours this will be taken into account.

Re: Lump sum varying!
what a farce. any other time royal mail say overtime and sa does not count when it comes to bonuses. ive worked as a part timer for royal mail for 15 years and seen the service decline vastly and just because i do no overtime i get £60 less than a run round newbie doing all the hours under the sun. not to mention the fact the agreement which i based my vote on does NOT say the bonus is pro rata, therefore the national agreeement has already been broken and every employee should have been paid £400.
