speak to your dom about a family friendly scheme, this could mean you work longer on the days you dont have childcare issues in exchange for a couple of shorter days or earlier starts when you do have childcare issues. Its law that they have to listen to your request and help you if possible

so now i get home around 10.30 on a saturday
Have to ask mate,what are your hrs and how are you finished at that time on a Sat?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Me too, I'm lucky to get finished at 12.30 on a Saturday

u r lucky to finish at 10.30 ....i finish now at 1.30 every sat ,,if im lucky !!!!! r we all working for the same firm >?

i have heard top brass are trying to get the sat preminum back that could soften the blow

We work 5am to 11.30am in our office on a Saturday or 11.10am if you take off the meal relief. As it's also job and finish I think the only postmen who aren't home by 10.30 are the ones who are on the docket. Oh, and also the ones who come back from delivery and set in their households for the next week :crazy: ! It will be a bit of a culture shock when we are working full days on a Saturday.

Of course when you have any improved attendances they have always been self funded. When you went from a six day week to 5 day week you had to collaspe one duty in every six to become a rest day cover. You dont lose the job they just become the rest day cover.

If you move to a 4 day week then 5 duties will have collaspe into 4 duties to fund an extra rest day cover.
