If You Get This Document...
If you get this document given to the membership,(see below for download). Inform your area rep asap. It clearly does not involve the CWU,either in early stages of revision activity. This clearly one of those "rogue" directors that need "smoking" out. This is the forum to do it in I think!!!

Re: If You Get This Document...
All our office have already filled this questionaire out about 2 months ago.
Also our area rep is well aware of this too. What should we do now? Have we got a weak area rep? are we being shafted? will our area rep challenge the dom over this now the agreement is in place? We've been informed that a delivery methods revision is about 6 weeks away from being implemented.

Re: If You Get This Document...
Just found out that this was one of the documents withdrawn on Friday by the business. However, the rule here is AGREE NOTHING.Stop looking at the D2D and longer Saturdays and money for a moment.Look at all of the agreement. If you filled this in without any questions, then why? Did you not ask your rep/arearep. Were you not aware that there were national negotiations taking place? This forum was quite clear with information on what was being negotiated.
Remember..agree nothing and ask questions. There are independant parties watching what goes on.We fought for that. Also, look beyond the things in the agreement that may benefit YOU only. There are things that benefit the workforce in terms of fair workload.
If you feel that the business will walk all over you, then get your div reps email and scan and email documents such as the one you were given 6 weeks ago.In fact scan and email them here too.

Re: If You Get This Document...
ir RM can get this stuff out whenever it pleases, then how can we be expected to work with them, when its plain to see that management don't give a toss about the agreement, about their staff, about the co-operation with the CWU,at every turn there seems to be a new "document" or "briefing" from upper management echelons via local DOMs,now we are being told not to sign it,bit friggin late folks

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: If You Get This Document...
I cleared out some old documents not too long ago in our union room. There were local agreements,(handwritten), dating back 20 years.Local agreements have always been there. It is not a new thing.Neither are things such a national agreements to be honest. We have always,to some extent meant to get the best out of them for our offices.ir RM can get this stuff out whenever it pleases, then how can we be expected to work with them, when its plain to see that management don't give a toss about the agreement, about their staff, about the co-operation with the CWU,at every turn there seems to be a new "document" or "briefing" from upper management echelons via local DOMs,now we are being told not to sign it,bit friggin late folks

It seems that nowadays National Agreements are coming through thick and fast. Are they the best for our membership? For offices that do not apply them, short and simple...no.
The "bend over" principle still exists.I think at some point the whinging has to stop.I think the easiest thing to do is blame someone or something without any comeback what so ever. However any agreement is worth the fight, and I would hate to be the director who tries to have his own policy with this one.The reason? Because they are being watched.I know this for fact. There are a lot of "rumblings" at the top.
The Hooper report did not just have the USO,or postal liberlisation in it.It also critisised the business's style of management,(as did the Sawyer report). The modernisation programme has this at the top of the list believe it or not. These individuals should have no place to hide. They are there, they do exist, via "comms". Well what is to stop us using "comms" such as this site?
We have to stop sitting on the sidelines "spitting in".Get the information, from this site. There are people on here that are quite active. Use it and communicate.Try not to get personal with your managers in terms of insults.Approach him with fact.Go through the agreement with him line for line. Give it a go. The agreement is here now and more importantly being scrutinised.....

Re: If You Get This Document...
This has got me thinking now. How likely is it that the area rep is agreeing things without the Divisional rep knowing? Does this happen a lot? I want to try to get to the bottom of this. I'm sick of seeing our office agree to things that it turns out later we shouldn't have.
We've also had a geo route revision agreed in the past 18 months, which by reading on here it seems we shouldn't have agreed this.
