Re: Joint statement on deliveries
Dvbuk the thread was a reference for CWU members. Non members no longer should have a concern about what the union is doing as you have decided to go it alone.dvbuk55 wrote:No need for a meeting dingo. the position on deliveries is we are taking a pay cut and busting our nuts delivering election material for free
The joint statement will address all the issues including timescales for the delivery section of the agreement.

Re: Joint statement on deliveries
Actually not quite tt, I AM a paid up member for this week only - I was too late to have the subs stopped for this week - but, tut tut, dummy spitting, regardless of my union status I will still get the pay cut, and of course all the negotiating that I used to pay for, I now get for free! - it's almost like being a full time released union official - I feel liberatedThe truth! wrote:Dvbuk the thread was a reference for CWU members. Oh - in case it had slipped your mind - this is an open forum, not owned or run by the CWU - so whenever I choose to comment, on whatever subject I choose then I will - but thanks for your concern.

Not being in the union doesnt mean one cannot criticise or be concerned by said unions mistakes.
For the record, this is a joint statement so, in essence, not being in the union shouldnt matter.

To start with grow up,this is not the CWU website. The truth! wrote:Dvbuk the thread was a reference for CWU members. Secondly maybe addressing the outstanding issues first would be a good idea before we start moving at Royal Mails "pace".
Are ALL members getting the full £400?
Are ALL members being paid for polling cards?
Are members recieving PAID special leave with regards to the volcanic ash problems like our union collegues in BT?
This union has a sad tradition of "moving on" and leaving the members to clean up the mess.
It is indeed time for a change.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: Joint statement on deliveries
Typical responses . The fact is that I informed the CWU members on this site that there will be a joint statement on deliveries which will outline the way forward for all aspects of the delivery part of the agreement.
This could not be done before as there was no agreement until the members voted on it.
Secondly I did not at any stage say this was a CWU website , far from it I was infroming CWU members of what will happen.
Dogs of war very witty , but I dont think you can accuse the CWU of getting married to Royal Mail , no one has had the amount of disputes we have , no one has had the problems we have faced.
Yes the Union membership have voted to accept the agreement , and only time will tell whether it was the right decision. But lets be factual in this that anyone who believed that this industry would not be changing regardless of the ballot result needs a reality check.
Now Fishtank , from my understanding those areas of the country who contacted Bobs department on polling cards have now been resolved. Has your area contacted the department ? Better still perhaps instead of posting on here you contact your rep.
Now in terms of the £400 I was always under the impression that previous colleague share was paid pro rata.
Again on the volcano issue the union requested some indivdual cases so they can take up and then get an acceptance that Special leave A should be used instead of annual leave. Some areas have sent cases has yours ???
Now in terms of my statement to Dvbuk the reality is that a joint statement with the CWU is exactly that , it is for CWU members . Of course the terms will apply to non members. Of course non members can moan and shout on here. But the fact is that you dont have a voice and you dont have a vote.
You made your choice to leave the CWU. Good luck to you . The CWU is a voluntary organisation and all reps are voluntary . If you believe you are better off outside then fine but dont expect to influence your office decision or any Branch or National decision as you no longer have any say in your future terms and conditions.
The CWU as a union will survive. Unions dont go bankrupt they simply merge with other unions. The CWU has survived far more controversial then this agreement , the ending of IWM , PBS and the way forward and whilst a small dip in membership happens it is not significant.
Now this may appear arrogant but the way you scream on this site that you are happy to be out the union then I should also be allowed to say what being out of the union actually means.
This could not be done before as there was no agreement until the members voted on it.

Re: Joint statement on deliveries
I have no need to contact anybody, our area has been paid but unlike some i do not see this as a local issue to be solved at local level. Now Fishtank , from my understanding those areas of the country who contacted Bobs department on polling cards have now been resolved. Has your area contacted the department ? Better still perhaps instead of posting on here you contact your rep.
This concerns a national agreement and should be resolved by national meetings involving national officers and national managers
You can be under any impression you like but the words are the words and the words DO NOT say pro-rata.Now in terms of the £400 I was always under the impression that previous colleague share was paid pro rata.
Yes,two test cases and more to follow and once again the silence is deafening.Again on the volcano issue the union requested some indivdual cases so they can take up and then get an acceptance that Special leave A should be used instead of annual leave. Some areas have sent cases has yours ???
As you are well aware this is not a small dip but an acceleration in an already declining trend.whilst a small dip in membership happens it is not significant.
We were losing members before this agreement now we are losing them more rapidly. That is a FACT.....or if you like THE TRUTH.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

That's definitely correct,it's clearly written in black and white for all to see, whereas in this agreement......................
Purely out of interest/nosiness,what are the figures on the "insignificant small dip in membership"?

Re: Joint statement on deliveries
Lets hope we end up with something a little more doable than some the statements that were in those 2 docs we saw, do you know if there are any more docs floating around?dingo wrote:Royal Mail and the CWU will meet Thursday and the aim is to produce a joint statement confirming the latest postion on deliveries and management confirming the documents are withdrawn and of course the next steps.
As I've mentioned in other threads, we have a revision that RM would like to move forward on, we are trying to say until all workshops and training of CWU reps, has been completed, shouldn't we put a hold on the revision ?
I've emailed HQ and not had a reply, not to impressed really, Reps need the information now, if management are having Docs and training, then why aren't Reps?
Could do with a new thread dedicated to ideas and info going forward, I find most of my info from RMC as the CWU site is so far behind, please keep the info flowing!!

TBH, THE TRUTH, it was your alter ego, DINGO who informed union members there was to be a meeting - great, why not wait until tomorrow and tell them the result!
What being out of the union means TT, is that people are no longer paying for mediocre representation that in no way shape or form reflect THEIR aspirations and as for merging with other unions, why bother - just set it up as a limited company, it owes more to being a business than a union, but that is only mho, rather like your statements are yho.
