All too familiar stokesy - something in the state of Denmark etc etc - at least they won't be getting any more of my money after next week! There are at least 30,000 employees in RM who are not members of the union - probably more after this debacle - do they ever come to any harm? - in fact it could be argued that they prosper without paying a dime - I mean if prosper is the right word, because they are still subject to the muppets agreements subs or no.stokes11eg wrote:Well, well, i've just browsed through the archive section, 2007, and it seems then that 40.000 folks didn't vote--

yep lets all leave the Union - but don't look at part of the picture believe it or not the Union are getting us a better deal than we would have ,yes a lot are getting some of the benefits without contributing, but if we all leave the Union lets see what happens . If it wasn't for the Union we wouldn't be getting any extra money in our pay,and we would still be delivering DD ,we are only made weaker by those that are prepare to take all the Union negotiate but are not prepared to pay in, and go to work in the strikes, again undermining our argument.

You have to be cruel to be kind! The best thing to end this ludicrous state of affairs would be to stop financially supporting the union, and start again, you are obviously one of those who still consider that this leadership is going to change and that reorganisation will take place without a purge. Fair enough wait as long as you like, I'm done waiting.

So you keep saying in just about every post since the result was announced.
Why keep on shouting on about it? Just do it, if you think it's in any way a smart thing to do.
Or is it that you feel the need to have others do it too, just to "confirm" to yourself that it was a sensible move, and you're a little unsure about it?
Still seems the dumbest of dumb course of action to me with all the changes imminent, but as with the lemming, some will always follow self-destructive paths in fits of adolescent-like pique...

It may surprise you to know Tman: But someone pulling out of anything (including a Union) alone, without looking for solidarity, will achieve nothing.Tman wrote:So you keep saying in just about every post since the result was announced.![]()

Now what you need to ask yourself, is why you need to resort to name calling?
Don't you have a rational argument to counter his?
There is no need to get personal with people. Just argue your case like a rational person, please. And refresh your memory about the Forum rules: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =7&t=11169" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; before posting again.

Now why would it "surprise me" when I've already said it's a dumb course of action? It may surprise you to know Tman: But someone pulling out of anything (including a Union) alone, without looking for solidarity, will achieve nothing.![]()
Sure he has. Still pointless and ultimately futile though. As someone else said recently, how people like to bang on on RMC isn't reflected in "real life", and many of those making a real big show of leaving the CWU either won't, or will rejoin soon enough. Just show-boating really....Now, I personally disagree with Dvbuk. But he has just as much right to try to encourage others to follow suit, to further his campaign, as anyone else.
I did?Now what you need to ask yourself, is why you need to resort to name calling?

Perhaps the Lemming reference although that is an Urban Legend of huge proportions. Lemming Suicide Myth Disney Film Faked Bogus Behavior
Or perhaps you meant the computer game, but they don't "follow self-destructive paths in fits of adolescent-like pique." do they, as being computer generated images/characters I don't think they can have "pique", adolescent or otherwise.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks for that TBT, ever since tmans post I have been wondering which cliff I was about to plunge fromTrueBlueTerrier wrote:Perhaps the Lemming reference although that is an Urban Legend of huge proportions. Lemming Suicide Myth Disney Film Faked Bogus Behavior

Actually that is another thing I have learned, I remember the Disney film quite vividly as a youngster and I did think that they committed suicide by jumping off a cliff into the sea.
It just goes to show that with enough persuasion people can be made to believe that bad things are really good

Whether it's a myth or not, "lemming" conveys the meaning of a blind nonsensical rush to get to a negative situation, and which is entirely appropriate in the circumstances.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Perhaps the Lemming reference although that is an Urban Legend of huge proportions. As for your last sentence, I'm sure you think it very droll, but the "pique" actually refers to those leaving the CWU and has no link or reference to lemmings, either furry or CGI.
{But I'm sure you knew that really, anyway..
