There must be thousands of rural deliveries with less than 400 or so drops where the £20.60 a week will amount to an INCREASE in payment for Door To Doors. and yet all these rural posties remain silent on here as regards this.

hi my round is classed as a rural with 570 drops ive got 129 drops in a estate in my home town then out into the country side finishing in a village

Which will be totally wiped out by the loss of our early start allowance

I think there were 17 000 delivery staff who recieved NO D2D payments at all.
If you add to that the delivery staff who recieved very little in the way of D2D payments you begin to see that for a lot of people the £20.60 supplement represents a pay increase.
Unfortunately it was funded by those who currently make a killing on D2D.
For a lot of people the £20.60 will have made little or no difference.
My guess is if you break it down:

40 000 winners
20 000 losers
50 000 no change.

Those figures look familiar.

you mean those who actually deliver more? lets be honest in the main its the crappier walks that have the higher call rates
so its a lose lose situation in those cases
more D2D's,crappier walk and less money

My duty is rural with about 280 calls but i voted a big fat NO to the agreement !! Many reasons why I did this ( saturdays etc) but the main reason was d2d, I think the new system is totally unfair and biased against(mostly)part-timers..the same part-timers who I stood shoulder to shoulder with before ,during and after the strikes !! If you think that everyone would sell their souls for £4 per week(this is the amount on ave, I have gained) then you need to think again !!Also , I often get moved from my duty, as most full timers do in my office, the 2 rounds I am moved to are 640 and 590 calls, so just because I am full-time and have a rural duty,dont presume I am not oblivious to the situation !!

Its the amount of leaflets which will be expected to handle which prompted me to vote NO. You could pay me another £10 per week and i still would not be interested.
At the moment i like to get them out of the way by Wed's at the latest. My customers hate them are are always moaning when they get a stack once a week, they will go ape when its everyday.

Not a typical rural duty then I mean, you're not in and out the van 570 times a day are you ?

532 calls on my rural, 3 items every week, no time made on any day, but I enjoy it, so what's the problem ?

i think the only ones to make anything will be the floaters!!!! 20 quid extra for no d2d!!!!!

wrong - the new system means 16% a day minimum and if the finalised document is anything like the one we have on here Royal Mail are planning fixed delivery days for fixed parts of the duties. They call it cold calling - ie only delivering D2Ds to addresses that have no mail that day but are due D2Ds.

By dint of that Floaters/Reserves/Cover/Docket will all have to deliver D2Ds as per plan.

Yet another reason that management will find it hard to get people to do docket.

imagine a scenario where the whole UK werent doing docket,now that would be fun
however we cant even manage it as an office..............

I thought going by your first post, you had problem with rurals, if not why post such a stupid thread.

I can't see how, from my initial post on this topic this morning, you can you can jump to the conclusion that I have a problem with rurals.
And do you assume I have a town walk ?
And if this thread is so "stupid" how come several people, yourself included, have taken the trouble to add comments to it during the day ?
