OPT OUT OF D2D

As a customer of Royal Mail I will be opting out of d2d deliveries. I heard a chap at work today suggest putting an advert in the local paper warning the public of the dangers of such a large volume of unsolicited mail building up were a person/persons to take a two/three week holiday. Surely such a build up of this volume would encourage a break in into somebodys house were an opportunist thief/burglar. Are the police aware of Royal Mail and its intentions. It may only take a high profile incident to put a stop to these practices. Letting the postmen/women deliver letter and a service to our customers.

Current retention notices state "all mail" which includes dtd. If there is a build up it will be because there was no keepsafe taken out or because our competitors are leaving it all hanging out of the letter box like they usually do. Either way it won't be our fault and yet another excuse for not doing the job just fell flat on it's arse.

Call & collect is free, keepsafe has to be paid for, although i do not agree with the outcome, we are
where we are, i find it amusing that people would wish to get rid of another stream of revenue, then
we will be moaning with the drop in revenue,further staff reductions, more P/Ters.

Not all are getting paid to deliver. A high percentage have no door to doors to deliver so please do not patronise me. Maybe I have cut my owm throat already as I swear I am running around like a headless chicken.

I was told that even if a customer has a 'Keepsafe', D2D's still get delivered, it's only addressed mail that gets held.

I think D2D is the worst type of advertising for the environment but I see people out delivering leaflets all the time on my delivery who are not royal mail, so opting out will just move the contract to a competitor. A school teacher years ago moaned at me for not using the other side of a page to write on because of all the trees being cut down, what a dumbass teacher lol. Should be out moaning at companies who deliver leaflets.

I Do not do high profit, or any profit come to think of it. I am a sharing person.

I have my D2Ds delivered and they go in the bin as its a pain to have to deliver to 99% but remember who does not get one and i like my Postie too much to muck him around.
