If you have time throw off any M3 that come through for your delivery and any stops that are M3 only leave in the frame.

When we had a meeting with out union rep's we asked this question and many more and were told that it has to be sorted out yet.

Well i would imagine a delivery methods revision and a shorter saturday are not going to mix too well.

I think they will be senior managers who want to delay improved attendances until the walk sequencing revision. But I cant see how they can argue that when the whole delivery part of the agreement talks about attendances being a key enabler. Just look at the delivery spans section, attendances and duty structures and the first thing in the revison process.

But lets be honest we know that some very senior operational managers are opposed to improve attendances per say and will want to try and delay them. However I think it is something which can be sorted. certainly in London we will not be doing revisons unless they have the offer of better attendances.

I know you might say that already the agreement is coming off the rails , but the Union are meeting with Royal mail today to attempt to move issues on , however we all know that there are some managers who are key players in Royal Mail who are unhappy with parts of the agreement as they took executive action to remove attendances last year.

Now Postman longer Saturdays will only come into an office prior to walk sequencing if

1. An office is failing to deliver all due mail`s now on a Saturday.

2. If they decide to move to an improved attendance such as a 4 day week or 9 day fortnight where they have to have either a 8 hour 54 min day or a 10 hour day.

The whole arguement from Royal mail on longer Saturdays was that once walk sequencing was in your office then this will mean you will recieve your 40% of mech later than now. They were not going to turn the machines off on a Saturday and therefore you will recieve the 60 /40 split of mail 6 days per week.

No one yet has had a proper walk sequencing revison including the trial offices as the 60% of work does not currently clear all the mail centres on a late shift rather than a night shift and not all mail centres clear the 40% by 04 40 in the morning.

Yes there are plenty of walk sequencing machines currently in operation but not one has had a revison as yet to the new workplan in particular Gatwick and Bristol the trial centres do not have walk sequencing mail on either Saturday or Monday as yet.

So there is no need for an office to have a longer Saturday until walk sequencing unless it chooses to.
