Now, this is killing me. I am born and bred Union. I've always been Union, so's my dad, and his dad before him. But this agreement, ratified by 66% of its members, is the last straw. I am going to lose 20 quid a week. I am going to be doing more work, under worse conditions. And then my union dues are going to go to donations to the "labour" party, the very same party that de-regulated the postal system, thus undermining the Royal Mail and preventing it from competing on a level playing field.

I blame the Union for the terrible state of the RM. I feel betrayed. The union is supposed to be looking out for my best interests, for the best interests of my colleagues. Every single one of my brothers in my office are losing money on this deal. We lose. We have lost. RM has broken the unions back, with the help of the government. And so now they are losing my support, my dedication, my commitment to a better, fairer workplace, not to mention my union dues.

For the first time in my life, I am quitting my union. I do not feel the union stands up for me. My rep is best friends with my manager, my union exec have just bent over for the corporation. And now 66% of my colleagues have voted in a short-sighted, destructive, and malignent agreement. And I am disgusted by it all.

I'm sorry, CWU, but i feel betrayed.

youve just voiced my thoughts exactly. 26 years in the job and always a supporter of the union. no more. im sitting here waiting for an offer of redundancy i'll snatch their hand off. sick of all of them

I just phoned wages to change my bank details and the girl apologised for the delay answering as they've been really busy, asked why and she said 2 reasons 'people cancelling their union subs' and 'asking about the £400 next week'. I think CWU HQ may have a big shock in store next week and over the coming months. Will the big boys take a pay cut??

Today was the first day in nearly 24 years,i have attended work as a non CWU Member.I must say,that it did feel strange,and to a certain degree,i felt vulnerable.However,i certainly agree 100 per cent with the top post on this thread,it sums up totally how i feel,and the reasons why i stopped my membership yesterday.The thought that at some point in the future i may actually have to cross a picket line now,as a non union member,makes me feel sick...Its against everything i believed in......Just totally gutted its come to this situation.Some at work today have said to me that they feel i haven`t thought it through leaving the union,but thats their opinion.
Come the day that i see positive things,and fairness for all,coming from this union,then may be i`ll consider re joining,but at the moment i can`t see that being anywhere near in the future at all.Feeling very sad indeed.

I am staying in only for local reasons as i feel with this deal we are really going to need a reps support. I also think my rep tries hard and deserves my support.
My delivery is one of the longer ones and their not going to like it when i cut off whilst trying to manage d2d's so i can see some help needed.

Yes maybe i am a mug for staying in when i am not happy with the way they have handled things.
