Damn the CWU
They negotiate a paycut for us and yet are balloting BT members for a payrise.

Re: Paycut for Posties - Payrise for BT
Dont over worry the CWU HQ has just put spin on it. BT workers have been done over for years as well, Including pension jobs terms and conditions as has the Post office. We are all treated as badly as each other now.
Quote from a BT CWU member from another source.
“Shock horror” were the headlines when BT announced it was to do its’ own attendance patterns exercise, ignoring the democratic NO vote of the CWU members ballot. The implications of this action are extremely significant and demonstrate BT’s complete disregard and contempt for the union. Far from BT’s stated position, it has in the background effectively bullied and harassed our members to pledge allegiance to a set of attendance patterns with no union control whatsoever. And to put further pressure on Workers to make a pledge to change their attendance patterns, BT Group has announced it is making final preparations to TUPE out of the company a large section of Workers under Project Beck. The real irony of the situation is that management could have achieved changes to attendance patterns on the basis of voluntarism by proposing an agreement along those lines to the union during the negotiations.
So what was the CWU leadership’s response? Folding our arms and saying the cause to defeat Beck is the only show in town – go to management on bended knees with a begging bowl – and pleading “please sir, we won a ballot but we will agree ANYTHING for you to drop Project Beck….” To one of “but we didn’t have a great result in the ballot – we must make a shoddy compromise and re-present to the membership the attendance patterns with a few tweaks here and there”.
Sounds a bit like

You're right LJR, change BT to RM and there isn't any difference.LJR wrote:Dont over worry the CWU HQ has just put spin on it. BT workers have been done over for years as well, Including pension jobs terms and conditions as has the Post office. We are all treated as badly as each other now.

Never mind they can always go on strike for a pay cut, like us
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
The time has come for union.

I wouldn't believe much of it. According to the press we are getting £2500 and 7% over 3 years.
