Postal workers and spelling.

When I worked in a big delivery office there used to be regular graffiti on the bog wall.This grafitti whilst being rather funny was also riddled with spelling mistakes.Now when I read peoples posts on here the spelling is atrocious.Is it just me or are postmen useless at spelling,I know work in a small spdo and were all ace at spelling.

I think our legs are being pulled as in the last line there is "were" instead of we're as well .

It's not the spelling I have a problem with ,it's people who use text language whilst using a qwerty keyboard that annoys me.

Apparently the average adult in the UK can only read as well as an average 9 yr old.
As there is almost certainly a link between being able to read and spell then it isn't surprising that most people can't spell very well.
Sometimes though the ideas are more important than the ability to spell.
You find a similar thing during WTLL where some people have good ideas but they aren't capable of articulating what they want/need to say.
The standard of education in the UK is abysmal. Posties are just a product of that system - unless they were home schooled.

Sure this must be a wind up (or read that as windup); because surely one would check and recheck ones post for mistakes.

The age of textspeak (that's not a real word is it?) has bastardised the language.

That's what you get though.

It's probably important to remember that much that is posted on Forums (that must be a roman thing); is done quickly to get the point over. Sometimes done with anger.

I'll forgive just about anything ...... Except....... could pople space stuff out a bit. It just makes it easier to read.

Please note that sometimes when I post I might have had a glass of wine and my typing skills could have gone down a bit.

Probably some people need a spell checker, there is a spell checking addon for Firefox called "British English Dictionary"

I admit that my spelling is bad and it always has been.
Quite often I will be on this forum and also on another and replying to two threads at the same time so things get a bit confusing and I miss spell quite a lot.

If I have anything of importance to say I sometimes type it out in word, run the spell checker and paste it in.
