Does 4 day week = 6 hour deliveries ?

Having looked at RM plans for CDv I can only deduce if you want a 4 day week it's 6 hour dels. And 3.5 hour deliveries for 5 day weeks. Have done some sums for my office and guess what doing 6 hour dels on 4 day week works out exactly same awd hours for my set as now.Is that the choice facing people.

Well it's gonna mean a 10 hour shift, and with WS there is supposedly gonna be less indoor work, so probably not far off the mark.............

Outside London 6 hour delivery

Both based on a 10 hour day.

4 day weeks do not have to have 6 hour delivery spans, we have 17 in London and the majority of them are 3.5 but some have 4 hour walks.

In the future it will depend how much work you have indoors , door to door will assit in this , plus at what time your second arrival arrives.

Now if you had a 6 hour walk then remember your entitled to a 50 minute meal relief on a 10 hour day ,plus travel to and from your delivery point which is normally 30 mins so you would then have 2 hours and 40 mins to do your IPS , ( secondary if needed) Prep , redirections dead letters , tie up , get your priorty services and then get out. Based on a 6 hour delivery you would have to be for a 3 o clock last leter out and traveling time out by 8.45 in the morning meaning your missort retrival and FSM rejects would all fail and therefore your quality for your office would totally fail.

So in short I do not think 6 hour delivery spans will come in on any attendaces. Currently rurals have longer spans now and have in the main always had longer spans.

When walk sequencing come in then it will depend what time your office recieves it 40% of mail and depend on when your walk batch is done. if your at the back end then it possible you wont recieve your 40 of your walk until 10 and that still needs to be prepped etc. Of course you might be lucky to recieve it ealrier but you still need to prep and you still need to connect with your missort van.

So whilst it is a possible it is unlikely that spans of 6 hours will occur.

Ok then dingo how can "weak offices" get a 4 day week if the whole point is indoor work is decreasing (without hybrid duties that wont be available to vast majority).
