Bribes to be paid from Share in Success??

Post by mailmonkey »

WHY WAS THIS THREAD DELETED? I HAVE REPOSTED IT< AS I DON@T SEE A PROB AND GENUINELY WANT AN ANSWER

I may be misinformed, but I see the bribes we are to be paid are coming from our Phantom shares....?

What about the people who only joined RM recently who don't hold any phantom share "certificates"?

Will they still be paid the bribes at the same level?

If so, then those of us holding the full entitlement of phantom shares will be due another payout in respect of our holding?

sorry if this seems unclear, it's reflecting my mental state.

To be eligible for ColleagueShares you have to be
permanent (or have a continuous long-term temporary
contract), have been employed in the UK on 17 May
2007 (the issue date), and not be on a career break or
extended period of unpaid absence. People on casual
contracts aren’t eligible and neither are those who work
for joint venture companies such as ROMEC and Quadrant.
GLS employees are not included either. Sub-Postmasters
are so important to our business in dealing with our
customers and selling our products that they are included
as well, and they will be told of the particular rules that
apply to them.
Everyone who works full-time gets the same allocation.
If you work part-time, you will get a pro-rata number,
based on your contract hours plus any regular overtime
up to full-time hours that you’ve been working over the
weeks before 17 May 2007. The same principles will
apply whatever your job and whatever your pay. Also,
anyone with multiple contracts with Royal Mail Group
will still only get one allocation of ColleagueShares.
We will be making further allocations in 2008 and
2009, until ColleagueShares worth a total of 20% of
the estimated value of Royal Mail Group have been
given out.

The third share of CS have not been issued yet, therefore CWU were able to persuade RML to do something different. That something different as we know is the £1000 linked to revison activity.

The first two allocations are intact and those who were not in employment when they were issued will have no shares to be bought back in 2011 and 2012.

Giving us something which we were getting anyway is hardly 'persuading' though, is it?

It wouldn't do much good. It was voted in, by 2 thirds of those who voted. That doesn't make it right. But we're stuck with this situation. :arrrghhh :evil/mad :arrrghhh

We are where we are and it is not good for many did not receive a vote and others did not use it so at the end of the day we are where we are up s**t creak without a paddle but how long will we all remain a float with the rapids approaching!.

The exact sum on colleague share was never guaranteed it was dependent on an artificial share figure which was based on the success or otherwise of Royal Mail.

Royal Mail wether you like it or not is in a mess, it has lost the profitable part of the market DSA and have been left with the most costly element. It has falling traffic. Postmen and women may be doing more work then they ever have but thats because they are less jobs then there was. Plus it has a pension defcit which is set to treble to 10 billion wiping out any protfit , plus it has a commerical loan which it cant afford to re pay and the Government has allowed it a holiday for 3 years from repaying until after the 3 year plan.

Colleague share was never supported by the union. It was a deal between Royal Mail and the Govenment to move money from the traditional pay barigining to a phoney share scheme.

The sooner the payments are gone and we can get back to normal pay rises the better , rather then lump sums which are here today and gone tomorrow.

But please dont think the lump sums were ever guaranteed at any figure.

less letters but more packets doesn't equate to declining mail volume to me. That was a major issue that needed to be addressed but was seemingly ignored in the agreement. Popping a letter through a door is a lot quicker than knocking....waiting....writing a 739 out.... management seem unable to grasp that.

 If folks had read the 'Agreement' when 'postman' first made it available, you would have seen the .Bonuses.were indeed fiched from your shares. had there been no yes vote, you would have still been eligible for a pay out or buy back in due course. and remember, some of those bonuses, (stolen from you in the first place)--will only be paid when certain criteria have been met. In real terms then, you get a 'bonus' which was yours anyway, but if you fail to meet certain (almost impossible to meet by the way) other 'bonuses' (stolen from you in the first place) will be forfeit!
Far from gaining thousands of pounds in bonuses, we have lost thousands-----
Thanks to all who voted yes to the deal!
