2010 and beyond has been ratified by the spineless members of the CWU, what a surprise! This has given our jumped up managers even more power over delivery officers. My DOM has lost no time in excercising his Hitler complex, apparently we are not allowed to speak to our colleagues unless it has to do with work. If you need to go to the lavatory you should go in your meal relief.
If taking a pay cut was not insult enough we have just been informed by our DOM that as from June we will have double lapsing, whatever that is, I suspect that it will benefit Royal Mail more than me.

we had a guy a couple of years ago who was bothered by ibs,the manager said the guy had to ask permission to go to the toilet to which the postie replied that if he did'nt make the toilet he would do it on the floor in the middle of the office and he was going to report the manager.
in the end the manager decided that asking permission to go to the toilet was'nt needed.

Same in our office, or maybe we work in the same office. The only time we didn't lapse the 5 duties, was the 2 weeks prior to xmas, when some temps covered them

never heard so much s**t in my life, you need a new rep! This should not be happening, where is your area rep in all of this, get the Div rep involved, ridiculous!!

if you come in early, miss out your meal relief then yes you will be expected to go out again. Bottom line is that anyone who finishes early is leaving themselves open to lapsing because you are telling your DOM you have spare capacity. Dont forget lapsing takes away any potential for overtime and the ability to earn extra.

how do we change this mind set ? they have been told that if lapsing puts them over their time they dont have to do it ,but cant get it in to their heads,managers are crafty they tell them if they are over they can make it up during the week.nothing stops them flying out the door ,out at 9.00-9.30 on a 3.5 hr del = 12.30-13.00 finish time paid til 14.00 of course there will be lapsing. in an office of 100 plus duties there is about 6-10 in our canteen in the mornings with this attitude we are well an truly fooked

I thought that when walk sequenced mail, longer delivery spans, and d2d into workload that after the office revisions there would be no lapsing?????
