dont you just know that management are gonna say that because mail is now sequenced that your prep time is gonna be less that this time saved will be time allocated for the prep of d2d.people who think that dutys will get calls taken off are dreaming.no way that is gonna happen,believe me.management at local level are seriously gonna have to gonna police the office to make sure that leave reserves/floaters do their share too.infact anyone whos is an a/g on 30 hr contract the future will be nearly 6 hr delivery spans in cdvs doing walks and packets,full timers will be under probably more pressure having to prep all duties in offices including unlimited amounts of d2d.your hr less you work each week will obviously be half hr from monday and tuesday when you probably sat around waiting to leave the office anyway.

well already been talk at our office of this,giving p/t longer delivery spans to save on indoor work but also talk of 4 day week with p/t doing the prepping of duties plus del of packets and specials so 1p.m spec still met and putting 2 f/t on a shared van with 4 3.5hr deliverys between them giving them a 7hr delivery. So effectively getting rid of 2 in 4 duties in the office and they say theres no job losses?? or are the p/t & f/t reserves who loose there duties going to be delivering the uncapped D2D items that each office wont be able to cope with so they dont fail as there part of work load now and also cover the fresh sick from the fatigue,stress,pressure ect... people are going to be absent from?
Hell there was also talk of designated p/t staff to only prep and deliver D2D items giving them three 3.5hr duties between 2 of them daily taking away some weight and indoor hours...But hey at the end of the day is it not supposed to be mostly agreed localy by us since we have a say in what happens at our office or is it going to be a case of dom saying "yes thats a good idea, but ..mine is better we will go with that".???

Who says there is no job losses? CWU and RML are very open with the policy of less people working for RML.

I regularly do a duty with another guy, we cover 2 duties from 1 van, it takes longer working from a van or cdv or whatever the hell it's called, one duty should take 3.5 hrs and the other a 2.5 hr town walk but it's takes a good 4 hrs most days because you chat more, you're driving the 1 duty and then driving to the start point of the other duty and you do all the packets, but if we are gonna go over our finish time we cut off and take it back, that's what everyone now needs to do, you won't get 4 duties delivered by 2 postman from a van, impossible so don't fret about that!!!

No questions get answered properly. I asked about space for the D2D's as I work in a small office. Where exactly are the D2D's gonna be kept?
I was told "Under the frame. As they'll have to all be delivered on the day, there'll be room"

As far as the walk sequencing machines go. I'll believe it when I see it.
I hope they work better than the machines they currently have in place. I'm so sick of having umpteen trays of CRASHED MECH!
So sick of being told "The machines went down again"
If they get rid of a load of MC staff, who'll sort the mail if/when the machines go tits up?
