now i dont post here often but do have a good read every other day but just wanted to get this off my chest
well done to the alomost 60'000 of our so called comrades who couldnt even be bothered to put a cross in a box and take the envelope to a letter box.
it dont matter to me weather you vote yes or no just so long as you do, great message those twats have just sent to the management and the union. No wonder they didnt negotiate us a better deal cos the majority of the people that the 'deal' would affect wouldnt even bother to vote on it.
They could of pushed through practically anything they wanted so i suppose we are lucky with what we did get.
Lets enjoy our £300 after the tax and prepare for the fun to start

In the last Union ballot vote our office in the city had it was discovered that our manager (no longer here) had hid every single one of our votes....

confused my arse , nobody told me how to vote especially management . my manager would not dream of telling me or anyone else for that matter how to vote. bunch of lazy , bone idle numpties more like.

Thats a load of rubbish , there were arguements on both sides of the fence from officials / local reps , CWU HQs.

The fact is that every unit rep in the country had the chance to attend a meeting with the negotators . In addition there were dozens of Branch meetings where members had the opportunity to ask questions and make their point. Plus there were loads of membership meetings.

Looking at some on this site you would think that Royal Mail chat run the union . It does not . It serves a purpose but has a fraction of active members that the union has.

The reality is that members accepted that if we are going to have future full time jobs you had to accept the deal which bought more traffic into measured workload.

Those who were arguiing against the deal came from 4 different camps 1. those who are anti headquaters on everything , 2 those who were standing to lose from the supplement and those who were concerned about delivery spans , Saturdays and that Royal Mail would not build a new relationship.

The majority who voted to accept the agreement decided that this agreement provided them with a future.

it would be interesting to know how many people bother to vote on who sits on the NEC. how important is that , people who have the opportunity to steer the direction of our union no less.

Cmon now brothers let's stop being economical with the truth, the figure quoted was just over 53,000 who never bothered to vote and for the record I to voted NO but like it or not democracy has spoken and as a side issue being a representative on health and safety matters I will continue to stay in the CWU.

The fact that so many failed to vote is woeful,the excuse "i did'nt get my voting papers"is no excuse,you should of been on the phone to HQ,to get one out to you ages ago,i moved less than 2 months ago and got one of my reps to email HQ to amend my records so the vote came to my new address,as for just could'nt be bothered to vote
