Has the CWU got any chance of getting its members better terms and conditions in the future.

RM know they have the workforce and CWU in the palm of their hands now, and can push through what they want without a fight.

The "be thankfull you have a job" and "im alright jack" brigade have shown they hold the power in any ballots.

If the CWU ever call for a national strike again who in their right mind will back them not the 40 thousand who voted yes for this or the 50 thousand who couldnt be bothered to vote at all and probably not the "strong ones" who took umpteen days of IA to get this.

RM know this and will screw every "last penny" out of us at their own free will, and as they see fit.

You can moan about the people who voted yes or the people who never even voted but in my opinion the agreement should never have even made it to us it should have been thrown out by the union before it got to us. Hang on a minute though, weren't we balloted on 2 things? are you telling me both questions on the ballot paper returned the same result?
What worries me is how out of 117,073 ballot papers sent out only 64,018 people botherd to vote, what's the point of being in the union if you're not going to use your vote?

My mate was sacked last year and the CWU would not back him at an industrial tribunal after him paying his subs for 16 years. His house insurance covered him and they are defending him at tribunal. What is the point of a union if it won't help you in your time of need.

How long until we see the union on tv saying what a great day it is for it's memebers because this is such a great deal? How can they be so out of touch with reality?

All this dissatisfaction with the CWU and many members resigning, is there any likelihood of a new union, 'The Real CWU'' perhaps, starting up - just as republicans sold down the line founded 'The Real IRA' ?
