Now i'm not biggin up the union,i feel the same way as you,but i personally wouldn't do it because of local level managment sh***s.

Things are going to get worse for all of us and we'll need the backing of our local lot more then ever.

but my feelings on this are that high!

I only ever needed the union once and as it was against another union member they were not 'available' (cough)

I stuck with them even though I represented myself ( and won) as I thought I should always have a union to back me up

since then I have never needed them and have indeed through sites like this known more than my rep anyway and have helped others out

this is the last straw for me members have been lied to

and that is not acceptable

I might be cutting my own throat, but I would rather do that than be held to ransom ( accept the deal , or else ) my principles are more important, I wont starve if I lost my job, but I would always regret it if I just rolled over

His subs are zero but yes the CWU increased subs this year I believe?

I know hes not a member, I just don't understand what his problem is regarding subs considering he don't pay anything.

much as i hate the way we have been sent down the river by the union,i thought of quitting my membership,but Postman is right,the winds of change are a collective fart from RM management,& i would (grudgingly)rather have the CWU to turn to when the wind turns solid,the CWU MUST know it ain't all gonna be sweetness & light,i shall pay my subs until i leave this super job

I still believe that we can change the CWU from within. We've already had a chance to vote for the NEC members we want.
