My brother in law gave me a copy of Dilbert.
Dilbert takes the micky out of corporation type workers.
He said that management cuts in three, the first hits the workshy who wander round with bits of paper and are useless, this works and company profits rise.
Encouraged by this the management cuts again, but this time valued staff are going who fill in when others are ill and holidays etc these people are of course part of the strength of a company, the profits rise slightly and by now workers are going flat out to meet deadlines and are begining to get hacked off by being undervalued.
Finally they cut the third vital cut that rips the heart out of the company and renders it unable to satisfy customers needs and the best workers are leaving because they see what is happening (although management are blissfully ignorant).
The company now has to use contract labour and self employed experts at 4 times the salary of the redundant workers, but now these self same workers are the same ones they chucked out.
I went to a company today to quote on tooling who are in that sad last position, the person I dealt with was in up to his neck and did not know where to turn, they have many CNC machines with no one that knows how to use them
We will get the order so it is good for us but hell its sad to witness great companies brought to their knees by idiots in suits.
Great Britain is being run into the ground from the top down by people who do not understand manufacturing and disregard people who wear an overall.

Brought down by greed. I wonder if they would be destroying RM like they are if they were earning less than the PM and not on these million plus bonuses.

How many TOP "British" companies can you name that are actually owned by British people, you'll struggle to get to ten. and thats why the cuts are being made to make them more profitable for the few, customers and workers come at the bottom now after owners, directors and shareholders.

Cuts = more work for those at the bottom = more cash for those at the top
