Re: D2D "SATURDAY SPECIALS"
I've underlined the obvious flaw in this plan. If they want them delivered Saturday morning, we'll need to start delivering on Friday night. 3.00pm on a Saturday afternoon is not the morning, erm..... except for those bigwigs at RM/CWU HQ'S.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:Couldnt make it up - the new contracts for the companies who have marketed and have come back saying that your more likely to catch customers attention on Saturday mornings with your junk posts. The D2D SATURDAY SPECIALS !! Pay more ,and get ALL your D2D delivered Saturday only - the whole lot - thats 1 LONG Saturday![]()
Maybe we`ll get all 10 weekly lots as Saturday Special![]()
Whatever the F**K next

Saturday D2D specials are not going to piss off half as many people as the Xmas eve ones, all those companies advertising, there sale starts boxing day.

Re: D2D "SATURDAY SPECIALS"
Sounds like a good time to remind the folk we deliver to that it,s a great idea to opt out of receiving junk mail. £20.60 a week increase and no D2Ds. I reckon I can sell that one. Ok for all you lot who are going to say that it will mean 000s of jobs going, I was only joking (or was I)

First orange bibs, then cycle helmets, dsa(so treasonous), now 100% Saturday door to doors, its so crap.
When I hear Muse take a bow, i think it could be about the management.
If postmen convert to Judaism, will we get Sat off, due to it being their day of rest.
postmen, dont really know what to do, The so called bonus payments, are hypnosis.

Its not a question are jobs will be create and worth saving. Does RM (our employees) have the same plans. My thoughts are rm were going to introduce this anyway with a whole lot of jobs getting the chop.dblad wrote:D2Ds save and create jobs according to CWU, that maybe so but are they worth saving, this is total shite now.

Re: D2D "SATURDAY SPECIALS"
Not only will you have to contend with doing every house with D2D on a Saturday but I've been told you will have to work extra to gain your 1 in 4 Saturdays off. There will be 4 of you in a group, 1 of the group has the Saturday off and the other 3 do a third of the round ( as well as your own round) of the postie who has the Saturday off!! Oh and not forgetting all your D2D!

Re: D2D "SATURDAY SPECIALS"
What if your hols fall on your sat off, can't see the coverman getting the sat off, can't see a coverman agreeing to do extra work either on holiday or sickness cover, this is all absolute rubbishmvinny wrote:Not only will you have to contend with doing every house with D2D on a Saturday but I've been told you will have to work extra to gain your 1 in 4 Saturdays off. Re: D2D "SATURDAY SPECIALS"
Just team up with a friend who support the opposition team so for example Aston Villa and Wolves. if week you are on saturday off and Wolves playing home and Villa playing away just swap. Then likewise if other way round. It will increase your chance. But it won't work if you both working on same day and both playing at home (in that case you might need to swap with West Bromwich Albion fan if necessary)

Re: D2D "SATURDAY SPECIALS"
Striking every Saturday would put paid to this utter madness.
Had we a decent union to protect us, this question of long, burdensome Saturdays, would never see the light of day in the first place.

D'you know something H, I had a bad experience some years ago with another union, but this one takes the biscuit:DirtyHarry wrote:Striking every Saturday would put paid to this utter madness.

In this economic climate, the company has no money, we have got to be realistic, there will be winners and losers, you have to look at the big picture, we want everyone to perform to the top 10%, there will be no excuse for not implementing the agreement, it is a question of trust, the continuity of service is of paramount importance, there is to be a new financial footing between RM and the CWU, the MTSF is to be changed, the union is to be reorganised
you can hardly credit that these people are being paid to look after our interests
