Which Umbrella Do COSLA Fall Under?

Post by proper postie »

CWU could learn a thing or two from them that's for sure.
Their members have been offered a pay increase, which is actually a pay reduction for its poorest paid members in real terms. The pay increase has been offered over 3 years and is actually below the rate of inflation.
COSLA are also reluctant to enter into a 3 year deal in this time of financial *(boom or bust?) uncertainty.

This all sounds very familiar, but something seems to be different in the actions of COSLA compared to CWU.Can't put my finger on it..... :hmmmm

*my own take on it,not reported.

The 3rd year of our deal is actually "open" pending on D2D growth and inflation

Would it be inappropriate to make a comment about Rihanna - Umbrella - ella - ella - ella :nervous

Exactly drb so why agree a 3yr deal?
It is certainly not in the members interest. :whistle

You had 60 million in 1999 for D2D. That has dropped considerably to 2010,(15 million about-ish), to 50 million.Do we take it now? Or wait?

Well judging the value of D2D by the figures RM have given the CWU is a leap of faith to start with.
But i would say that a 2 year deal would have been plenty of time to judge the growth potential of D2D into workload with no cap.
Do you believe everything RM/CWU tell you drb?

its a big enough point for me,one of those that remain unclear in a charter that advocates winners and losers, when in fact we should all be singing from the same hymn sheet.losers are delivery postman, winners are every other person employed by rm.what we had twenty years back is hardly a valid starting placeis it?
