Your office D2D plan

Just wondering if you guys have been chatting about the big change over at your place and what measures you're looking at to get it to work.

I mean more so if the stuff doesn't get done on your day off,you come in the cover or duty holder hasn't done his %,is the managers going to tell you that you have to do it.
You come back off your hols and there's last weeks there.

That kind of stuff.I do wonder where we stand on refusing to do 'lazy Bobs' % ect

Nope, not seen the DOM for a fortnight, so the D.O is on auto pilot

To be honest there wont be any major problems at my place as managers will oversee DTD delivery to a higher standard and its allready at a high/normal standard.

I see the shear logistics of gettiing the stuff to the frames a night mare.I spoke to the person who puts out all the D2D in our office,and he is under the impression ,that they will come in a type of sleeve with the rest of the mail!

But that is ony what he beleives as ,he says he will not have time to put out d2d Daily.I cannot see where you will put all this stuff by the frames unless daily.

I am waiting to see the new size walks we will have,and the time span allowing for a 100% call rate.Also now we will be handling UK mails parcels up to 5kg,
more houses to knock on more tracked etc,have the new vans been ordered and are simply waiting deilvery or does it depend upon the agreement.

Call rates will not be set at 100%, why would they , RM will argue the rate will drop anyway as you will have six days to deliver them as opposed
to 5.

How will the logistics be a nightmare, & the guy who dishes them out now, unless they do away with the time allocated for this task,
why will he not have time to do it?

Postman, I think we need a rising scale of punishment for each occasion that you find D2Ds have been left untouched on your rest day.

1st instance:
You are allowed to name and shame the individual and ridicule them in front of the entire office. Furthermore they should be forced to cover your Special Delivery items for a week.

2nd instance:
You are allowed to soak their trousers in cats’ pee and then send them out to deliver to all addresses known to have dangerous dogs.

3rd instance:
You are allowed to tie them naked to a york bearing a banner reading “Get a job, you idle giro hunting scumbags” and abandon them on the meanest mother of city estates.

4th instance:
There won’t be a 4th instance. See 3rd instance.

speaking to my rep to-day , asked him if the 20.60 kicks in stright away if its a yes vote,he said it did . so what about the revisions ,do we carry on as before ,no walks revised,and being paid less for doing them.his answer is, well we just bring back mail .is he right (not about the last part) does it kick in stright away.

No - how can it if they haven't agreed work rates, so how can it be built into workload

To be honest, management don't seem overly keen on this latest stage in the great slash and burn exercise, and they've hardly said a word.
Our union area rep has had one meeting with staff where he tried to sell us this piss-poor pile of shyte, he failed, miserably.

Enthusiasm is in short supply, from both workers and management, I'm glad to say.

I think if this d2d stuff does come in, we definately need to make floaters, reserves and people splitting a second walk on OT more accountable. It can't be that hard can it? Sorry, I forgot....this is royal mail we're talking about.

How about a daily sign off sheet that could be combined with the signing out sheets to say you have done your 20% or 16%, whatever the figure will be. One other thought, as D2D will be into workload, if your floater doesn't do them on your day off I would think it will strengthen your argument for cutting off as you will have double the D2D's to prep and deliver, so when they do their count this will work in your favour regarding traffic levels. Hopefully they'll soon get the message that the D2D's need to go on your day off....unless of course people just absorb the extra in their own time as happens now...
