jimmy im with you dude same things make my blood boil were getting 5p each for the polling cards 3hrs o/t for addressed electon material having to be done over 3 days and for the un-addressed 5 days plus 3hrs o/t

Yeah thats what we get Storm, 5.6 per item - addressed we have 3 days , unaddressed its either 5 or 6 days

Manager said floaters take 1/3 of addressed or 1/5 or 1/6th of unaddressed

Mine get delivered when I have time to do them, Managers don't want to pay overtime or have any cut-offs, so I've said I'll do them as D2Ds: 20% a day.
If they don't like it they can stick em! I will get them all done before the election though!

A few things get on my nerves in this job, namely the people who start early, and work for nowt, and make me feel like im slow and in the wrong. And the people who throw off a PT round during IPS then throw their own in whilst we are still on IPS ,emptying the boxes of 2 rounds every 30 seconds - then sit around swinging their legs whilst we bring 20 coded bundles round at 8:30,and theyre fully prepped !

But a new animal has been unleashed this week, the lowest of all, lower than a snakes belly button, the scum of the earth, its name ??? `The Bounty Hunting Floater` !!

The cretins make a point of saying they arent taking d2d all year round, wont go near them for love nor money, no matter what management says, but were ok with that we`ll keep the cash, suits us both tbh. BUT this week , the election material appears, 5.6p each , and the treacherous scumbags are doing 1 round a day and clearing the lot whilst people are off. One bloke did his own floating rounds mon/tue/weds and cleared 2 lots on each round (despite us having 6 days to clear them!) - the normal lads said they didnt want to take them mon/tue as it was light on, so would do them at the end of the week. This leech has also taken 3 lots on the 2 lapsing rounds we do mon/tue, and the blokes who do the lapsing rounds as their own wed/thu/fri are spewing !! Thats 10 lots @ £30 a set, thats £300 in 3 days, stealing from his workmates ! My floater has taken 1 lot on each round so far, and its my days off Fri, then Monday, and im telling you now, and i`ll tell him, just like Kevin Keegan many years ago, IM TELLING HIM, ID JUST LOVE IT IF HE TOUCHES MINE COZ IM TELLING HIM AND IM TELLING YOU AND IM TELLING HIM AGAIN , HE`LL BE TAKING 20% OF MY D2D FOR THE REST OF HIS NATURAL BORN !

Must confess that now I've seen a Working Tax Credits payment in the bank this week, but yet to get the official paperwork, part of me wonders about offering the whole lot of outstanding election material to my floating day cover (sorry, but "floater" makes me think of bathroom associations :D ).

As much as will see the money earlier by doing D2D and election material, as far as I'm aware this will be proportionally taken off my annual Tax Credits, which come about due to my complete family circumstances (including my better half who is on the predecessor to Incapacity Benefit since way before we met). I have not sat down and worked out the figures, but I doubt this premium material would make a big enough difference to eliminate any Tax Credits/Housing Benefit/Council tax Benefit allowance and then make our family better off.

Conversely, the D2D and election material might be long term extra money in the pocket of my Floating Day Cover, due to their family circumstances.

Certainly "food for thought" for me, this might be a win-win scenario for me and my FDC...

Plus this will eliminate the issue that created the "kangaroo court incident" I sadly experienced on Friday morning about the DOM saying I should not claim extended delivery overtime whenever I have dealt with any D2D or election material (even if on a light Saturday like today where I was on the road from 0830 to 1250 without any premium material, due to its ~125 businesses and 475 residentials and all the specials/recorded that come with it).

Edit: In defence of my line manager, who knows my personal long term health issues and my family circumstances right back from my job interview last autumn, he stood back from the "kangaroo court" incident and and has repeatedly reassured me over the last two days privately that he backs my work efforts and the extraordinary size of the round for a part-time walk and will authorise justifiable extended delivery overtime, even if I am delivering premium material, as this round I do has a notorious history for "cutting off." Given my stressed state right now, this has really helped me through.
