ya know one thing that i love about the job is killing my "dead "off before leaving the office each morning.ya cant beat sat down with a coffee and a pile of "dead" stickers and a pile of mail beside you.anybody else share the satisfaction of "killing off" each morning or am i the only one????

The new kill off stickers we use seem to be the wrong way round , making it even worse....

I think we should charge DHL, TNT, UK MAIL and all the other DSA companies when we have to deliver their dead letters back to the sender. To me this is just a free service, the DSA company pays us to deliver it to the address on the front of the envelope. Why then do we have to deliver it to the sender for free? seeing as the DSA company only want us to do "the final mile" then returning it to the company they have the contract with should be their responsibility.

Yes I liked them as it allowed me to go outside and have a smoke , while I did them. Manager could not complain I was wasting time, as I was still working .

Oh yeah, I particularly enjoy killing off mail to schools that have no keepsafe during the hols; postcards to old dears from their friends who don't know what number Acacia Avenue they live in and my absolute favourite is birthday cards for small children with £1 coins in them. Of course I really really like doing this whilst in the canteen on my meal relief whilst eating my bacon fat sandwich. Can't do enough for a good company

Now, that I agree with. Returned DSA mail should be bagged up and returned to TNT, UK Mail etc, if they want us to RTS, then they should pay. Especially when the companies using their services are using mailing lists at least 5 years out of date.

I prob get about half a dozen a day now which is fine. However when i was on a shop / firm delivery it was more like 20-30 a real nightmare

I usually get about 20-30 a day, except following my day off when it's usually about 50. You can guess how many after 2 weeks AL.
I've got loads of short stay rentals, rest homes, woman's refuge and the usual dodgy characters that move out after 6 months leaving a trail of debt. Oh and quite a lot of elderly people that sadly pass away.

If a DSA item is to be returned to sender for a reason caused by the sender, i.e incomplete address, no such address etc, then the items should
be returned in a yellow pouch to the parent mail centre, where the item is returned to the DSA SENDER & SURCHARGED. Your D.O should have
a procedure in place for the handling of this product specifically.

Friggin loads, i deliver to an area highly populated by students who can't seem to stay in one place for more than a couple of weeks, but what pisses me off more is when they save them up and send them back all at once

Never heard of the DSA thing.

Also,anybody get theses feckers hoarding the RTS's,at times i get them up to 2 years old and s**t loads of them in one go and there has been no new tenants in that time.
