Can anyone tell me what the union spends our £3.01 fee on? I have read that 144,000 ballot papers were issued for the up coming ballot of the century. 144,000 x £3.01= £433,430 per week. Now before you start, i know that part time staff pay less this is just ballpark figures. Taken over a year this amounts to a staggering £22,538,880! With that kind of money being collected weekly, would it not be better spent in employing some intelligent professional head honcho that would represent the workforce better than dopy Dave and baw faced Billy. I know there are more union members than stated but this is just ballpark. Lets start a debate on how the money SHOULD be spent.

let say they have 50 staff 50 X say 23 thousand on average = 10,600,000 so that is 10.6 millions on wages. Plus say 1 million on operation costs ie rent, computers, supplies

BTW 50x23,000 is 1,150,000. There are much more than 50 and many are on more than 23,000.

So your seriously telling me it costs Royal Mail £394,849 A YEAR!!... Just to press a button on a computer to deduct an automatic £3.01 from everyones wages, that is scandalous.
