WTTL SESSIONS.

Post by blue1873 »

WTLL sessions: posted this subject on the MC/DISTRIBUTION board but no one seems to have an answer; when management cancel these sessions are we entitled to time off floor or money for these lost sessions, we had at least eight sessions cancelled last year and two so far this year :confused .when asked our section rep :so there gives us the nodding dog treatment and says "it's a bit of a grey area" ....... grey area my granny's cat -----it's part of THE WAY FORWARD or has that been binned in the hope of a yes vote shortly. If it's part of an agreement then it should be honoured :angel the way i see it they owe us time/money .......but dont expect to see either  anyone got thoughts on this.

Royal Mail has introduced these communication standards to ensure people are involved and engaged in the company and able to contribute to its success. These mandatory standards for our managers are listed below:

* Communicate everyday, fact to face with your people
* Talk and listen to people about issues that affect them in a timely and consistent way
* Hold pre-shift huddles with your teams
* Hold weekly Work Time Listening and Learning (WTL) sessions
* Spend your Firstline Fix money
* Continually feedback issues from your people up the line and make sure you get answers to their questions
* Manage the noticeboards in your unit and ensure they are regularly updated and reflect the issues that are important to your team
* Encourage your people to participate in the have your say process, share results and involve your team in developing an action plan to improve the office
* Improve performance by consulting with your team
* Celebrate success however small.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Who fills in those HYS forms now anyway??

BTW we rarely get WTLL sessions anymore either, something about too much mail coming down on a Tuesday to have them :whistle

Thanks Fishtank & Postie 222; couple of things there to confront mr CROZIER'S CLONE with but would still like to know if we are entitled to time/money when sessions are cancelled  .The more they get away with it the more they will do it (don't give them an inch....they don't give you one) :no no.We could of course start playing at their own game by" DOING THE JOB PROPERLY" the way they showed/told you how to in those WTLL sessions in the long and distant past........so long ago a lot of our colleagues have forgotten how to. :Boo hoo!and by the way we have slaughtered them in the HYS forms and it's made no difference up till now ;they don't give a sh..!

The other day our manager said we had 20 spare indoor hours but we weren't going to lapse as he had 18 hours banked from WTLL.
That means we have missed 36 sessions according to him. More like 360 which would give us 180 banked hours and we could kiss goodbye to ever lapsing again.
Never let the hand you hold, hold you down.

Work Time Learning Sessions are built into your duty. It is part of the budget too,(or your AWD) for all you "PHG'S" out there!!

That 30 minutes is now being used for your delivery/prep. The "bean counters" within the business seem to have conveniently forgotten this. So they notice we go quicker on a Saturday but ignore a "Written In Stone" agreement,(Single Delivery Agreement).

....this "trust" thing is blinding eh?

Wtl sessions hours are built into the tranning budget. So at the end of the year Rm can say we invested theses hours in training. Seems by not having them he will be saving hours on his budget which gives him up to 10% of his wage in bonus payments if he is under budget. Nice little earner for him/her pity we do not get a share of the savings like the 50/50 schemes. Maybe a letter from staff unsigned to Higson could get your wtll sessions back on track.
