Question for London posties

I was told at a unit meeting by a divisional rep that 75% of London DON'T do door to door (i find this hard to believe) ?

Was also told at the same meeting by the same divisional rep & area rep these lump sums (2010 agreement) are not our college share money, would like clarification on this as it's not how i understand it.

There is an overall payment of 2500 over three years for various implementations - the first £400 is colleague share which you would have received anyway by July.
£200 is payable as new money for the implementation of the unsequenced revision, two payments of marginally more than £500 in 2011 and 2012 is colleague share money and was yours anyway, a further £200 and £600 on the implementation of the walk sequenced revision and its success.

So in a nutshell £1000 is new money and will be paid to each office on rollout which could be anytime between now and 2012 - so plenty of time for RM to save up from the profits from D2D eh!

My opinion of them rolling out un-capped D2D and having the traffic monitored as well,(by us),is that they are "cacking it". However they will,(that is the rogue managers),will now pin point the offices in which in the past they can "push over".

We need to really look at what has happened in the past,learn from it,and stop what ever crap they bring in in which is un-agreed. Plus ALWAYS get membership ratification. If your rep ain't up to it.Ballot Box,and get someone who is up to it.

That £1000 replaces our final allocation of phantom shares, which may or may not have been worth £1000 in 2011/12.

I certainly wouldn't agree with 75%! There are some areas,or more than say 50% that do not have the 3 per week.It can vary.I haven't had a meeting with the members because I do not want to sound like a manager.
However,I do believe that we don't get as much money as say TNT. There used to be a very large mailing house,who did have the lions share of D2D.TNT then bought them out.

Another point about the newspapers calling our deal "more junk mail". Well TNT load the newspapers,(thats the D2D inside the newspapers itself).The term "junk mail" actually came from these newspapers only when Royal Mail,(or someone else) delivers them.

On another point about TNT,they are introducing a service called "1st Class Mail".This is where they are delivering 1st class mail only. Not sure how well this service is going,but they are certainly are going to go for it.

This is certainly not spin,I promise you.It is just the facts,having pretended to be a business customer I rang them up.

If I was in a negotiating position,and that pot was getting smaller and smaller per year.Should we wait? Or should we grab it now?

As stated,this is not spin.I have done my own homework myself from about 3 years ago.I have family in London,Bristol,as posties and MC workers.Plus there are some members who we all PM from time to time.The disparity on D2D throughout the country is quite amazing.

TNT do not deliver their new first class mail service drb....we do...surely someone who worked in deliveries would know that.

Royal Mail were not considering "switching off" D2D they were considering rebranding and relaunching it but to do this they needed something that would gaurantee quality......something like introducing it into workload.

What we both can agree on is doing something about unagreed changes in our offices without membership ratification. That we actioned and got every last drop from a national agreement for the membership....

I'm a London postman and wish I could say I never see that D2D shyte from one end of the year to the other, but I can't. Had three lots of the crap this week.
