different election payments

why should it be that there is such variations in payments for election material depending on where you work, what decides this, strength of union in your office? Local agreement or something else as to a reason why we are all paid differently for the same work,its just all a bit shambolic really isnt it?

Couldn't agree with you more, it's an absolute disgrace how different areas are paid more for election material than others. It should be the same payment for the whole country. It shouldn't be based on local negotiations or how strong your local union/branch is. It's remarkable that this is actually allowed to happen in a modern day business. How is it allowed to happen? Why is one area paid more than others?

The payment system is not dependant on how strong or weak your local Union is. If you check the Election Material Agreement which is in downloads its based on a complicated formula and IIRC takes into account overtime claimed on the same products from before the agreement came in.

I agree now though that we should all be on the same but if we went to RM with it I am sure they would cancel the payment and bring it into line with the D2D agreement.
