We touched on this a couple of years ago on here.
I also rem a couple of years ago we (CWU) had some of our guys go over to Brussels with other European Unions for a rally,where f**k all came out of it.
So why did not the postal unions of Europe not have a European wide strike on deregulation,and why don't we have them now to show the pitfalls of deregulation.

If postal workers in Europe object to the liberalisation of the EU postal sector, then we need to have an EU wide postal strike.

Would we be allowed to strike over deregulation. Anti-trade union laws make it illegal in this country to have political strikes. Wouldn't this be classed as a political strike?

Sorry but that's wrong one of the Dutch firms Selektmail pays on a piece rate - and has no sick pay or pension and very little Union protection - hardly call that better than us.banddy wrote:they won't go on strike.

I suggest we all email him and tell him about the failure of the EU plan to provide a cheaper and more efficient postal sector by introducing competition. If the EU had left the national postal services alone we all would have got the profits from the internet shopping boom and have been able to upgrade our equipment and employ more staff on decent terms and conditions.
Postal workers in Europe should make sure that wherever M. Barnier goes he will be confronted by the faces of angry postmen.
