In laymans terms what does this mean????

• EVR terms uncapped until April 2013 – existing terms until October 2010, after
which pension enhancement will be based on 37.5% of maximum potential service.

It probably means that after 2013 vr terms will be subject to another agreement.as you know at the moment they are pretty good,only me thinking but could they be looking at mininum redundancy hope not but i have a suspicious mind.
from some of the words on here 37.5 of potential service people are sayoing that your pension will only be enhanced by 3.3/4 years rather than the 6.2/3 years at present would someone clarify if this is completely right or wrong thank you.

Exactly, after 2013 the terms will not be so generous

Or it could just be that after three years of mutual trust between RM and the CWU, the harmonious and utopia-like atmosphere in units across the land will be so blissful, nobody will even want to consider leaving ?

In fact, I expect the CWU to sign up to a "2013 & Beyond" agreement, which will see us paying RM £20.60/week for the privilege of coming to work

I would imagine it would depend on the financial circumstances of the business.This would of course rely on the economic climate as well,in which is really bad at the moment.In the states for example they are shedding up to 35% off every workforce. That means that the people who are left have to pick up the extra work and can't moan about it,(t*****s!)

There is also the fact that a lot of people,(unless you are 55 or over),will not take the VR as,(for example),how long is £30,000 going to last you out there,the way things are?

thats true, i'm 43 but i'd take it. the way the jobs going we'll all be down the road in 3years or part time or dead from exhaustion, yep £30,000 sounds ok to me.mind you the new agreement promises us we'll be be working as fast as the top 10% and i for one can wait to climb aboard that time machine. pity beer isn't 48p a pint like it was last time i was a teenager.
