In response to Allan and Adam's letter (Sat 21 July)

Dear Allan and Adam,

Please stop sending me letters telling me how I should join you in your plan to destroy over 350 years of a once strong, valued and well-run business. Please stop quoting figures at me without any evidence to back them up.

And stop telling me about "downstream access" as I am well aware as a delivery postman that the decline in the mail market may be happening in your "fantasy world" but all I see is more and more mail in front of me in a morning, and more and more weight on my back.

Also, don't try and destroy the Union which I joined so that I could be protected from penny-pinching, budget-oriented, "fat cats" like yourselves, as I find this disgusting that you are even considering trying to take them out of the picture, by threatening us with how bad the business will be if we don't all get back to work.

Why not sit down with the Union instead of trying to destroy them? And why not save some paper as well instead of sending me letters that 1. I find hard to stomach and 2. wonder where you got the time from to write it when you're busy managing several other companies at the same time.

Well said Bloke7. I haven't received mine yet but I'm sitting here shaking with excitement waiting on its arrival now you have told me it's on its way.

Seriously though mine is getting popped back in the post as refused. I think we should all do that. Can you imagine how much that would piss those two parasites off if thousands off their letters were sent back. Lets make that tens off thousands. And as for 'The Courier', don't get me started.

Not got mine yet, but i assume it will say in so many words that we're ignorant and lazy, which seems to be the gist of all the propaganda that gets shoved down our throats. I'm sick of it.

Our office is equipped with "bullshit proof waste bins" that protect workers around them from the effects of poorly thought out and monotonously similar propaganda such as the letter you mention above. I haven't read mine because I recognised the distinctive markings on it's exterior and the aroma which is generated by the raw bullshit contained within - and popped it straight into the receptacle provided before I was exposed to any contamination. I hope no poor bastard steals any from a postie's pouch thinking they may be of value - he will be disappointed - In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the thief ran after us to give us a donation, saying "how the hell do you put up with those lying bastards"!!!

Sadly IWW Fellow Worker it will take one of these self interested b******s

to have an accident in their car on the way to/from dly and their insurer telling them to **** Off before they will think about what they are doing. I objected when asked, to using my car back in 1995 and continue to do so.

Since joining the site, I had thought about stopping the use of my car - although I only used it to take out myself and my first pouch, once I sussed the importance of not using it ( and got a bit more militant than when I started ), I started to look for an excuse to park it up on arrival & then walk down to my start point. But it was always easier to make the excuse to drive down - end of last week I was asked if I wanted any docket this week, half covering a rural walk & being P/T & brassic, I agreed ( after checking it wouldn't be harmful to the IA with the assistant rep ), since then, it's been shank's pony all the way & a refusal to move my car, unless I'm going home....and you know what? Cos I'm P/T, on a F/T walk, not using my car is jacking up the amount of docket I'm getting & the best bit is though I got one or two shitty looks from my DOM this week, there is jack he can do about it

SMOKERJIM a day on the picket line with us has done you the world of good, you seem to have the right idea, why use your own equiptment when the firm is supposed to supply us with all we need.

AND as you're a part timer doing a full time job ( just with a bit of sorting removed ) how can they be surprised if you book a little docket from time to time, so carry on with this attitude 'coz, as you say, there's jack they can do about it.

I might be missing the point here about using your own car,as it doesn't affect me on my duty

But after i have pointed out to certain car owners about using there cars they say " well i finish earlier

" And then the van drivers say "Well that is five bags less i have to do. So i finish earlier aswell

" So who the hell cares?
