The D2D supplement will be non pensionable. This means that if RM decide to take it away, pay protection will not apply.

Please Minister dont add to the confusion - its not a D2D supplement its a Delivery Supplement.

But the rest of it is right, although some parts of it for some people remain pensionable. Confused - Yes I am.

Your wrong it is protected in line with mtsf as it's an permanent addition to basic pay. Night allowance is only half pensionable but that is also covered by mtsf . You don't need to spin things which simply are not true.

How can a permanent addition be non pensionable and why should it be?

MtSF states that pay protection applies to basic pay, pensionable allowances and regional pay. If the delivery supplement is part of basic pay, it should be pensionable.

Watch the delivery supplement disappear into the ether in a few years.

Thats the only reason why its not protected.

No, that was only if no agreement could be reached on pay restructuring, agreement has been reached so it goes.

There were a number of reasons why it was not made pensionable , one being it would make defcit worse and mean that Royal Mail have to pay further pension costs. Remember those in reciept of the early shift payment retain their pensionablity. The other is that we would have mail centres and distribution on a different basic pay rate.

This is nothing new to this industry we use to have something called UPAP ( unconsolidated permanent addition to pay ) which was never lost , and simply went into pensionable pay under the way forward.

The fact is that this new supplement is a permanent addition to basic pay then your pay is protected in the same way as an allowance ie a night shift allowance has only half pensionability but is still protected by MTSF.
