Banked hour's, do you have them

Im in constant argument with my d.i.m over

A. HOW MANY HOUR'S YOU CAN BANK

B. HOW LONG YOU CAN HOLD THEM FOR

C. AND "C." HOW AND WHEN YOU CAN USE THEM

An example of C would be.......postie say's "i cant be arsed today, im off home at 10am just take 4 hour's off my banked time". d.o.m turns round and say's "no, thats not going to happen, and if you do go, i will take you down the conduct code, and seek dismissile"

another example is..............postie builds up 17 hours up in banked time, ask's the d.o.m " i'd like to use my banked time off in a week's time". d.o.m say's "sorry no cover for them days, so no, your request is denied". And again the postie ask's "can i have the time back in 5 week's, again the same anwser"

Can anyone advise me on any guide line's or agreement's that are in place within royal mail letter's. What happend's in your office and any ammo you have to combat this would really be helpful, thank's

Simple answer to this! He us NOT allowed to 'bank' hours! Work your contracted hours!

Banking hrs,although it was in the mix for P&M in phase 4,it has never been agreed nationally and is not in the mix at all with this new deal.

If this is so, then how does 5 weeks on a 1 off work, common place through out the counrty, effectively is this not the same, I.E banking time over the 5 weeks and taking it back on week 6, or is this something different altogether.............and to postman, if phase 4 is not agreed and could be being replaced by 2010 beyond will it be covered off in that agrrement in anyway, and not wanting to diverse from the question i asked, the way i read 2010 it does'nt

this banking of hours was signed off by a rep in belfast for one of the divisions some time ago

there are people in that division ,constantly forced to work overtime ,under the flexabilty law

some of these guys have well over two weeks banked and cant get them for various reasons

and even worse than that other divisions on same floor still get paid overtime.this banking

doesnt apply to them.so should this be going on or not??

You should read this agreement again. I think you might find that all outstanding issues from phase 4 of Pay and modernisation have been agreed and signed off with acceptance of this new deal

No agreement ever supercedes the law. Nobody, I mean nobody can make you work more than your contracted hours, so you shouldn't be doing it.

we are all payng three quid the same as other members.so why are we getting constantl sh*t on??

ive supported this union for 20 odd years now,but its starting to wear a bit thin.

My rep is not in the pocket of the managers and we get crapped upon from a great height on a regular basis, so we're in the same boat as you.

If we have banked hours then can we get the government to bail us out too
