I have had this scenario the last two days. Even though my ~125 business and 475 residential round typically has 6+ specials and 10 recorded, which takes ~4.5 hours to deliver in my trolley, our DOM tried to bully me today into never claiming extended delivery overtime when I have delivered/prepped election material OR D2D!
I see no option for me, given I recieve Working Tax Credits: I need to do all my D2D on my quietest day (Monday) along with any election material, then claim extended delivery for Tues&Weds&Thurs. Along with my 1 hour prep overtime, this should easily get me 7.5 hours legit overtime and then inform my line manager that I need to cut off on Fri&Sat.
I get my pay balanced out with Working Tax Credits, line manager and DOM then see they will need to pay someone to cover my cut off at their normal hourly rate plus 3/4pence premium for the election material for the cut off zone.
If it would normally be 15 minutes max over my 1430 finish time, I could live with that. However, I expect to get back from my walk at least 30 minutes past my finish time, then spend another 15-30 minutes dealing with failed specials and recorded plus my "deads" pile which cannot be done before I go out in the morning without delivering my final special(s) after the 1300 deadline.
