RM getting rid of D2D's
Lots of talk about this,in one hand RM were going to scrap it completely,in the other hand it was only in areas where it was poor, and they were putting them into sleeves anyway.
A few questions...
What regarding the above is true.
Why would a product/working pratice which is a sackable offence if not completed be left to rot in the affected areas, what were RM management doing about it?
In my area we were constantly reminded that we had to do them, this would of come from above DO management,so what happened to the other areas.
Why would RM top brass let it slide the way it did.
Something is not right here.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Excatly what ive been wondering, how did Q of S get so bad/
What on earth have RML managers been up to?
I was taking with two mbrs about this earlier and one asked the very same question about Q of S and who was to blame, which in my view lies at the feet of RML managers.
On the turning off the product question i belive it was in affected areas and not nationwide.

We are being told on here and at the main briefings that the reason we have to have the supplement is because we have captured the money because RM were threatening to get rid of the product.Big Daz wrote:Excatly what ive been wondering, how did Q of S get so bad/

Could be a scare tactic, trying to get a "yes" vote, or am I just being sceptical.

Re: RM getting rid of D2D's
I know for a fact that it was the lack of line managers NOT CHECKING the D2D's.In fact they hardly ever did......Hence the refunds going back to the companies,(and refunding the actual printing too).

Managers have to manage us delivering them. In other words if someone is not doing the job as per spec then Management have to step in and Manage the situation, perhaps even using the ultimate sanction if needed.Steviea34 wrote:Dont really understand this statement, why does this lie at RM managers feet, surely it is down to us to deliver themBig Daz wrote:Excatly what ive been wondering, how did Q of S get so bad/

Bravo - if everyone pulled their weight we may not be in the situation we find ourselves in now & before you all start having a go,
think how many in your office either a) just try & cause problems, whilst constantly moan about the job (yet never attempt to leave)
b) think the business owes them a living & c) others that exert as much energy avoiding work than actually doing the job would exert anyway
whilst the rest of us pick up the slack

Everybody and i mean everybody considers themselves to be in the "rest of us pick up the slack" bracket.

Re: RM getting rid of D2D's
Like i said...
The buck stops with management, end off.
For instance one guy at my place did not do his D2D's one week, the reason being that the 'baron' was off.
He told the manager that he did not know the 'baron' was off,i mean,f**k off ffs.
Anyway, the manager just said ok just make sure they are done this week,my colleage told the manager, they will be done, the 'baron' is working this week.
wtf is that all about!
There could be times for all of us where we can't be arsed to do certain things in work,so if i decide to feck about then it is up to managers to sort me out.Why would a product/working pratice which is a sackable offence if not completed be left to rot in the affected areas, what were RM management doing about it?

Re: RM getting rid of D2D's
Good point fishtank, but you know if you have done your fair share & your conscience will
tell you if your colleagues have picked up the slack. A question i normally ask myself is
if this was my business, would i employ certain members of my office & the answer is not
a chance, & again as for the "wingers" we all have choices, so maybe the job is not suitable
any more & its time to accept reality & move on

Re: RM getting rid of D2D's
I have members who belive they havea god given right to start early finish early and if anything gets in the way of that and the CWU dont remove the obstacle then I as the local rep is evil, selling the mbrs down the missipi etc etc
They hate absorption with a vengance but continue to complete their duty their absoption and still go home early.
That against a back drop of utlise all paid work hours, which the DOM is going to have to roll out sooner or later and take some flak and upset people.
