I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

iam on a jobshare which is 24 hours a week work a normal 3 days mon tue wed the other postie dose thu fri sat same holiday with a wallington week

The break is 20 min and the amount who use that break to prep d2d is unreal.They have no other time to do it right enough.

I cover a handful of duties. I'm on a 25 hr contract. All walks are based on 3.5 hrs. However, some have 300 delivery points some 600. The ones with 600 obviously get more mail so some prep is done done before I get there. Whoever claims for the door to doors preps them, usually the duty holder.
You can't say '15 mins in 15 mins out' as it depends on how far away the first delivery point is. Some will have more travelling time, most less.
You can't say 25 hr contracts start at 9:30. Different offices, and even different duties will have different start times. I start earlier on the busier days (wed, thurs and fri), and on sat.
The only thing you can be sure about is the 30 min break, if you work a 5 hr shift.

I work 25... Start at 9 meant to finish at 2, 5 days a week... Haven't got my walk down to 3 1/2 hrs yet so i usually finish around 3 without taking a break. Don't get my D2D's prepped but mail is presorted on my frame. I just do the killing off and redirections then mark parcels to letters for delivery and bundle up. I start my walk around 10:30 sometimes a little later depending on when i get out the DO... Don't take a break in the day as i'd rather finish ontime and i take drinks and my dinner around with me anyway.
The D2D's on a quiet day when i'm ahead i prep before going out on my walk otherwise prep back at the office after my round.. doesn't take long but i have yet to finish at 2.
Was never told any of this really though, my D2D's i just assumed i'd prep in my own time otherwise they wouldn't get done.

this is outragrious on a 25 hour contract u walk in at 9 everything prepped etc. work to 2
on a 22.5 its walk in at 9 and to a huge mess of mail and expected to be finished for 1! WITH NO PAID BREAK
