Polling Cards...

We got our Polling Cards in today and are getting 6pence per door with 1.5% Credit... So say a Duty has 500 Doors they will be paid for 750 Polling Cards @ 6p..

Can this offer of payment be right??? As i feel we're getting bumped as most addresses have a mininum of 2 occupants... I boxed some in today and on 4 seperated addresses i had 5 Polling Cards for a single address which should be a total of 30 pence but am only getting 9 pence now a loss of 21 pence for 1 door - so god knows how much we're gonna lose out on in total...

And why is this a payment supposedly agreed by RM & CWU as my DIM says when its the M.o.J thats paying us??

Never heard of this before,you should get paid for each card you deliver,not each house and a % on top.

sounds like a good deal to me as all election material in our area is paid at 3p each.

A 500 call walk with an average of 2 per call would get me thirty quid, while the OP would get forty five!

I'd need 3 cards for every single call to match that.

We've been told it's payment by address not individual item as well,although it's been confirmed at 4.5p.

Union rep and management both stating this is correct.....

and no payment will be made.
Can anyone confirm if theirs came as 1st class but still got paid.

Below is the paragraph i took out from the agreement.


It is possible that a very small number of poll cards may arrive in with the general post and these should be dealt with accordingly. Poll cards should arrive at delivery offices clearly identified and separate from the general post, they should be in their own bags, and should be walk sorted or at least sorted to streets, and bundled. These items will be paid for at the appropriate rate in accordance with the agreement. If for any reason representatives believe that these items are being filtered into the general post they should contact their Divisional rep immediately.

ours are coming via "prime post" (DSA) and we have been told we are to deliver them within 3 days without payment at which point i pointed out to my line manager that i would be cutting off if that is the case

Yeah mate,go higher.That's definitely wrong.

Ours came in walk sorted and marked 1st class,though we got 3 days to deliver.
At first management said 1.5p,then it changed to 4.5p after the rep got involved.This is definite.

Ours came in today, they have been walk sorted and are first class. We haven't been told if we are being paid for them, but the rep is on the case and we should find out tomorrow.

Ours came walk-sorted. We've got 3 days to deliver them @ 3p each card. No mention of a 1.5 % credit.

So, what's going on ? Is there a set price for the whole country or is each office on a different rate ? Ditto for the 1.5% ?
