Offcom have no power over us, we are still with Postcomm.

RML, in terms of their licence, are not obliged to deliver by a certain time of day. Time of day is not part of the USO.

I still do not think the general public have got used to the late mail,(since 2003/2004). However in fairness our firms need to start performing 2 deliveries for the benefit of small businesses.

Its on the Labour website as a policy, not sure if its in the manifesto, funny how it happens once the GE is called

Surely, Royal Mail will do the decent thing, and produce a leaflet to be delivered to every household/business in the land, explaining how due to their never-ending plans to bring "much needed modernisation" to the company, and the £500million invested in the latest cutting edge technology in order to do so, instead of the mail actually getting to our customers earlier, as would reasonably be expected in most countries other than Britain, it will be in actual fact, later in the day before they get it.

This is going to have to happen at some point, the amount of abuse we get is not acceptable for late post. I hate delivering on wednesdays and saturdays due to the post office closing at 12.30 and of course I haven't delivered all their giro's by then!! Last wednesday I nearly had to return to the office, was getting hassled that much on the street. I also work in the kind of area I would never dream of going alone in the dark so I hope by moving the delivery times later they are going to be flexible about what happens in the winter. I am a young female and feel vulnerable enough in the poor area I work without making it even riskier.

They didn't do this when they moved our start times, they won't do it this time either. People will just assume you wanted a lie in.
