100% or what ?
manager was discussing today d2ds ,it was brought up that if(when) day specific d2d started would duties be design at 100% rates his answer was no he couldnt see that happening . so if thats the case do we only do about 75% of them or will we force to complete them ,will they use flexibility, bullying, or what to get them cleared

Re: 100% or what ?
Very, very good question, one which ive also thought about. One thing is for definite, doms/reps will not set out our rounds out as if they will have 100% call rate, as we will not have d2d/live mail 6 days a week ..or will we ??edo10 wrote:manager was discussing today d2ds ,it was brought up that if(when) day specific d2d started would duties be design at 100% rates his answer was no he couldnt see that happening . so if thats the case do we only do about 75% of them or will we force to complete them ,will they use flexibility, bullying, or what to get them cleared

Re: 100% or what ?
If it does come in, then as far as i know, we can still cut off......even the dims can work that out
i hope. No matter what, they cant force us to work over our contracted hours. If they do, then theWHOLE office will have to STICK TOGETHER and refuse to do them.
I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.

Re: 100% or what ?
My guess is this is where flexibility will kick in and they will screw around with our hours on a weekly basis to suit their needs. The agreement allows for this so the CWU will not support anybody who refuses.

Pay and major change says that they can ask you to go over by up to 30 minutes. Ask not tell or instruct. If you don't feel happy just saying no then just tell them you have an appointment you can't miss. If you do go over then it has to be reclaimed in the same week that it is done.edo10 wrote:manager was discussing today d2ds ,it was brought up that if(when) day specific d2d started would duties be design at 100% rates his answer was no he couldnt see that happening . so if thats the case do we only do about 75% of them or will we force to complete them ,will they use flexibility, bullying, or what to get them cleared
Strangely, no one in our office has ever been asked, possibly because management know the answer "(insert swearword) off"
Bullies only prosper if you don't stand up to them. Have a go it is fun.
The only fly in the ointment is the agreement we are voting on now although I can't see where it says that day specific items will happen, only that further discussions will happen on that subject
Boring I know, but read the agreements, all the way back to the way forward, it informs your arguements and you will know more than them
The only worthwhile function of management is as somewhere to put a key and wind.

Re: 100% or what ?
I can guess the reply from the YES camp.
"Local agreement....reps involved in process...no bullying.......no one will have to work over their hours.....flag it up to area/divisional reps...blah, blah, blah."
Well I would like to see it in writing before it is implemented. This agreement is worded so ambiguously it will cause problems before the first 30 pieces of silver are paid out.

Check with a rep, I think you'll find you can only refuse if you have a very good excuse, to continually refuse would not be in the "spirit" of the agreement and will not be accepted. This will apply even more when day specific D2Ds hit the scene.

Re: 100% or what ?
If there is a finish time of 2pm I will begin my return to the office at 1.45pm. If its 3pm I will begin my return at 2.45pm. I have kids and they need me, fook flexibility.
The gaffer can sort out whats left, cos I wont be.

Re: 100% or what ?
See its not even clear what time to make the return. I cant possibly vote for something so vague.
What is clear is that I wont be working 1 single minute over, flexibility or no flexibility.
They've pushed the finish time too far back for that.

Chewi emphasising the word ask does not mean it is voluntary.chewi wrote:Just checked the agreement.numan wrote:chewi wrote:Pay and major change says that they can ask you to go over by up to 30 minutes. It is not a huge leap from ask to request and then to reasonable request and obviously then to......refusing a reasonable request.
The important part of that section of the agreement is INDIVIDUAL CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.
There would be no need for that part if it was voluntary now would there.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: 100% or what ?
