We all got our polling cards in today. not for the election, but for the voting on the RM agreement, how dare the union put words into our mouths asking us to vote yes. If you don’t do door to doors and you don’t work Saturday it’s a great deal. This vote should be for delivery staff only.
For delivery staff we have been sold down the river. If the union review the door to door situation and long Saturday working hours we may consider voting yes.
Judas Ward won’t be out till 3 o clock on a Saturday afternoon. He will be filling his stomach with mars bars and chips near Tower Bridge somewhere.
And what’s more I did some election material last week and was told I will receive my payment when every election card has gone out of the office. This could be up to THREE WEEKS. That’s fraud… if we never done our door to doors this week and we got paid for them RM would class it as fraud. So what goes around comes around.
I will now forecast the deal will be fiddled and go through as a YES vote. We then will receive our £400 they promised and the same week receive all our election material payments and get hammered in tax. RM are stitching us up big time.
Judas Ward that video is a insult to the funds we have paid down the years…..

its not fraud could be wilful delay on your part though if you didnt do the d2ds, as for payment, your dom has the facility to put the payments through weekly on the normal pay sheet he puts everyones overtime through on, he is talking balls, probably just trying to make it easy for himself and pay every one once in one big payment but shouldnt be doing this, get your rep on to himJenny Manchester wrote: And what’s more I did some election material last week and was told I will receive my payment when every election card has gone out of the office. Re: Ward
Jenny, have you even READ the 2010 deal?!?!?
How could you suggest that those of us who aren't in Deliveries shouldn't be allowed to vote on a deal which will have a major effect on our terms and conditions?
Or are you suggesting that we should split all future negotiations into specific sections, which would severely weaken our bargaining position.
And what's this about it being a great deal for those who don't work Saturdays, or work in Deliveries?
Although it's far worse for Deliveries than the rest of us. It still contains serious attacks on our terms and conditions, and includes NOTHING to combat the B&H problem.
Sadly, there will be a lot of people who'll just look at the rewards section, and vote for it, without understanding the consequences. But to say that it's a good deal for MCs, Drivers, RDCs, etc., is simply misguided.

Yes, Jenny, you try telling someone who's Mail Centre or RDC is closing in the next three years that they are doing alright out of this deal, and so shouldn't have a vote on it.andy2007 wrote:But to say that it's a good deal for MCs, Drivers, RDCs, etc., is simply misguided.
I don't particularly want to work longer Saturdays, but I'd still rather have that job than face redundancy in the current economic climate. I know 2 ex-rover employees who have not been able to get a job since their factory shut. (And it isn't for lack of trying for other jobs, either). A cut in d2d money - which was never guaranteed - might be hard to stomach. But a cut from a full-time wage to ZERO pay is on the cards for thousands of MC and RDC staff

Re: Ward
We all will be van drivers soon PHG's do not exist and even managers will soon be on delivery once the last postie leaves the office in some offices it already happens so it is not the fact that those in delivery whatever the function will be better off for we will all be worse off!. Same thing applies in mail centers half the mail centers will go and distribution jobs will go!. THE ONLY WINNER WILL BE ROYALMAIL IF THIS DEAL GETS IN VOTE NO!.Jenny Manchester wrote:Andy its not the deal for delivery staff.... I think what Jenny was saying, is that RM management, and the CWU hierarchy, have proven themselves so untrustworthy to the vast majority of postal workers that, as in many a banana republic, the whole voting process will be, errrrm, how shall I put it? Knobbled.Night Tonic wrote:Fiddled? Explain.
As Al Capone once famously said, "Vote early, vote often," or words to that effect. There's more than a hint of "old Chicago" about RM these days, sadly.

As the counting is done independently, I don't see how you can arrive at that conclusion. Basically you're saying that if the vast majority vote in favour of the agreement, its a fix and if the vast majority vote no, its not a fix? If any coffee needs smelling whilst awake, its on that revelation. The result is the result either way. Too many on here are quick to condemn those that choose not to strike when a democratic vote has been made for IA, but ah, its a different matter if a larger majority vote yes for the agreement? Thats just childish ranting.DirtyHarry wrote:I think what Jenny was saying, is that RM management, and the CWU hierarchy, have proven themselves so untrustworthy to the vast majority of postal workers that, as in many a banana republic, the whole voting process will be, errrrm, how shall I put it? You know the one, it has all the elements of the best conspircy theories in it, like, "there's managers on here making out they're posties, and they're trying to swing the vote to a yes", or "there's IB on here seeing who's who" or "RM are going to force this deal in to get all the regular F/Ters to leave for nothing" and "Crozier left with all our pension pot money", and "the CWU are now part of RM, and the SWP said so" and many more.
Just surprising no-one's seen the "black helicopter with no markings" yet, but I suppose it'll come..

What about the 50,000 + votes that dissapeared in 2007 ?
Then after a yes vote were found. Vote should have been anulled.

Perhaps you could explain it to me.
By the way. I'm not a Union Rep, but I am a CWU Member. And I voted NO and sincerely hope that we can block this agreement, before we see hundreds of Posties out of work, and those that remain, face continued attacks on their terms, conditions, and job security.

Re: Ward
Well it takes all sorts but because some people have been out of work for a long time, because RDC/MC closures will happen, although travelling expenses have been increased and MTSF rules have been relaxed and EVR rules have been amended to, in part, accommodate the proposed closures, then delivery staff should take a pay cut, work longer Saturdays and generally have their terms and conditions eroded - now how that is going to change the tales of woe I fail to understand.
