Before you vote read this and think.......
If you were offered, a pay cut, longer working on Saturdays, and up double the number of D2D to deliver for no extra money, would you think this was an offer that your union has cobbled together and is recommending?

Dont try and reason with the imbeciles they cant and never will see that this is a good deal to where we were 6 months ago. Nor will they see that people all around us are losing their jobs, being forced to work less hours, no chance of a pay rise let alone a 7% one over the next 3 years and guaranteed full time employment with a shorter working week, more Saturdays off and a £1000 lump sum. All this is really wasted on these people.DirtyHarry wrote:Like what, for instance?banner18 wrote:You cannot find any merits in the agreement?jack straw wrote:If you were offered, a pay cut, longer working on Saturdays, and up double the number of D2D to deliver for no extra money, would you think this was an offer that your union has cobbled together and is recommending?

I'm not too clear on how I stand to benefit from this agreement. As I see it, I stand to lose d2d money, have later start and finish times including Saturday, have more d2d's all for 2% pay rise this year, 1.5% next year and 3.5 the following year IF RM DECIDE THAT WE HAVE REACHED THEIR TARGETS. Still according to you, I'm guaranteed full time employment with a shorter working week. That's great because I'm part time and the moment and I'm being shafted. Still an extra 4 Saturdays off a year will make up for every other Saturday (and therefore the weekend) being effectively ruined, and the £1000 lump sum (that was ours any way) will come in handy...Oh wait, it's pro rata isn't it?NoSurrenderX wrote:

Door to door is being put into workload.....that means you will have time everyday to prep and sort the door to door that will be classed at letters. You will not only be paid for doing this in your weekly pay packet but you will also receive a 52 weeks a year paid supplement. A no vote is not an alternative to change. The Royal Mail will go ahead with the changes regardless. Then what? go on strike? lose more money we will never get back? The public would hate us and all that the media will focus on is us rejecting a 7% pay rise rejecting a shorter working week and rejecting a £1000 lump sum. oh and £400 of the £1000 was part of the previous deal not the £1000 as you stated!pinstripe wrote:I'm not too clear on how I stand to benefit from this agreement. The public are going to hate us even if this gets voted in. They complain about how late they get their mail now can you imagine what it's going to be like when they're getting it later and later? I must say though it's good to see that Royal Mail brainwashing is still going strong :-) mind you depends on the size of the brain :-s

Re: Before you vote read this and think.......
D2D was being taken off the menu and was gonna be either scrapped completely or done for free anyway , Saturdays in my area are midday-1300 hrs finish so if you are lucky enough to finish before that time then keep your head down and hope nobody notices. The deal is a pay cut initially but £400 will bring you back to your basic rather than a profit we would have had in the past. All a bit depressing but if we did strike can somebody give me an option , show me something that i can pin my colours to ......untill a cunning plan is hatched i'm reaching for the vaseline.

Re: Before you vote read this and think.......
I think if this deal goes through, the geo route and indoor workload tool will have to be sorted in terms of shorter delivery spans and more indoor prep. This is where the planners screwed up.The indoor element should prep a part timers walk.There- fore they come in,bag up and go.
However there is no one more placed to do this then the rep.He/she will not be planning around budgets. More-so H&S/Fatigue/Stress/Less Weight/.
At the moment a 25 hour contract for example is accumulating 15 hours per week extra on OT.It is not the unions fault for this,it is the business.

Re: Before you vote read this and think.......
For me it's about trust. Trust in that we will have a fare workload. atm we have rounds that are 5hrs long. Fare that bullying and harrrassment will go away. we have 20+ people somedays working their contractual hours because they don't want to work until 4pm. Fare to people who maybe have been struggling and wanting evr because the working tools are likely to push older or slower people out the door. Our area manager is a total **** and sees it as managing people out of work. His words. We also have lost 20% of our workforce in 1year. Replaced are part timers. So i do feel that it will be business as usual if the agreement goes through. And by the way, it's bad enough people doing 900 calls to others 400 getting paid the same, never mind the ones who don't do ANY and getting the cash. Now that's trying to bank a few votes i guess?

And all that with a pay cut today and the PROMISE of jam tomorrow. It isn't 7%, it is over 3 years and it isn't guaranteed full time employment, 1 hour less at commencement of sequenced revision so not this year, 200 paid on the yes this year, 200 on the sequenced revision implementation and 600 on succesful roll out of sequenced revision, so again not this year and the 3.5% in year 3 subject to revision.NoSurrenderX wrote:Dont try and reason with the imbeciles they cant and never will see that this is a good deal to where we were 6 months ago.
