Have you all given up!
reading through the forum feedback it sounds like the workers have already given up and decided that there will be a majority Yes vote. We have not even received the ballot papers yet! I for one shall still be voting NO as the whole thing is a complete insult to the RM workers. Just because the cwu reps and rm bosses want this do not be fooled by them, stick up for what you really want..and i dont believe any of you want to lose money and end up physically knackered as this is what will happen. As a long serving postie i have learnt not to believe what rm tell you. Read between the lines of the "proposal" as what you think it says and what it actually does say is two different things. DONT GIVE UP YET!

While loss of d2d monies is regretable, its inevitable, due to the walk sequencing machines and R Mail's view on them, you would lose the payment anyway or at best it would be reduced, the Union has acted now rather than later, to get the best deal it can, act later, the £20.60 would be a lot less, while we may not like it, we have to face the reality.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: Have you all given up!
its about facing facts, the D2D monies would go or be reduced to 1 contract at best, when the walk sequencing machines will decimate indoor work, the union needs to find other work to protect jobs, hence D2D into workload, its a no brainer or lets carry on and ignore reality, is an agreement to protect jobs, for anyone voting NO, if a NO vote is the result, what do people honestly think will change, will everything just go away, will walk sequencing machines be sent back and not come in, people need to start living in the real world, the job will change, we might not like it, but it does not mean, it wont happen.

If Early Morning Shift allowance is going down every year, what about the PHG allowance. Why wasnt that brought into the Delivery Allowance. Robbing Peter to Pay Paul is a stitch up.

Not all reps are singing the praises of the deal!!
Im not being brainwashed by anyone!
Yes I can see the sense in protecting jobs because of W/S and loss of indoor work.
But this deal worries me and the idea of later starts through the week depresses me, also the unfairness of the pro-rata supplement, amongst other things.
I have done 26 years, call me a cynic but I have yet to see a good deal.
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.

As the courier has pointed out the last of the walk sequencing machines will be in by 2013....long way off.wetrix wrote:its about facing facts, the D2D monies would go or be reduced to 1 contract at best, when the walk sequencing machines will decimate indoor work, the union needs to find other work to protect jobs, hence D2D into workload, its a no brainer or lets carry on and ignore reality, is an agreement to protect jobs, for anyone voting NO, if a NO vote is the result, what do people honestly think will change, will everything just go away, will walk sequencing machines be sent back and not come in, people need to start living in the real world, the job will change, we might not like it, but it does not mean, it wont happen.
Any vote now should reflect what the members want now. So if you haven't got you walk sequencing machines, how does the whole set-up of this agreement work.
In 2-3 years time lets us have a vote on changes then......not now!
My job HAS changed over the past 5 years and I've had very little say in that on a DO level!

Re: Have you all given up!
Walk sequencing machines complete by 2013, they will arive in units over the next few months, ours will be here within 2-3 months, they are coming, and they work, the union had to act now, not when they start coming, when its to late

Re: Have you all given up!
Monies like PHG allowances has gone to a very small amount of people, maybe 1-2 in each DO, if they still work for us, would hardly make any difference to over 100,000 other staff
Delivery spans, are not a major issue to me, if mail is arriving in offices late and all walks are planned to 14:30-15:00 last letter, and your last mail arrives later, and u go out say 10:30-11:00, then the span will and cant change that much, based on the planned last letter
Saturdays can be worked around, at least 1 in 4 off, why not more, it depends on the Rep and the strength of the office and what each office wants
