football season tickets?

Dont know if this has been asked before but here goes anyway!! I have been a seson ticket holder at my club for many many years and due to the longer saturday bollocks it looks like its either the job or the footie, believe me the decision is very very close!! Lets presume that I stay, will any other fans be renewing their season tickets for next season ? Do you think its worth the risk of buying one soon if , when the s**t hits the fan, we will be worhing until 4-5pm on saturdays ? :mfo

im in the same position mate not missed a home game since 1979 and took the job 15 years ago because it meant i could still go football . this is the worst possible news for us footie fans . why the hell do they have to change the hours not only do people have hobbies outside of work customers dont want their mail later and later as most of them wont be in when you deliver to them . wheres the logic in all of this

Gotta agree whole heartily on this subject. A few guys in our D.O are season tickets holders, me included and the choice of renewal is now a very dicey option. My club, Everton , have a very appealing policy of issuing discounted 'early bird' tickets before a certain date - after that you pay full price. Now, do I buy now and save money but risk not being able to attend the majority of home games. Or wait, find out the result of the ballot and pay a higher premium ?

The whole idea of Family Friendly duties seems a bit of misnomer here. On the one hand they are all for, allegedly helping people with child care issues, but when it comes to the weekend when people want to spend some time with their families, going on day trips or even a having a relaxing Saturday watching Spongebob (ahem) - your now screwed and at the mercy of the Royal Mail's blinkered capitalist agenda.

So who benefits from this? Not us Blue Collar slobs on the front line I can tell ya that for now! :mfo :mfo

I'd buy one and if or when the sh*te hits the fan you can sell the games to a mate or non-sat working colleague. Worth buying just to keep your name on one!

I will definately be renewing my ticket,I can't see why I should be held to ransom by the bunch of crackpots who are running RM and I am alomost certain I won't be held to ransom by the people who think that this is a dgood deal and are voting yes.I do hope they will be in the minority.
So there we go, I am staying with my season ticket,after such a great season so far I won't give up watching my team even next season.Meanwhile I will continue working my way out of RM as this is no longer the job I took on 5 years ago and I no longer enjoy it.

i was worried when we went on a 5 day week renewed my season tkt then we went on a four day thought would struggle when i do a fellow postie gives me a dig out thankfully havent had any 1245 ko also happy when we get a sunday game with days off have managed away games plus on a 4day its great if you have wednesday night game and you have wed and thurs off

This won't help,you can cut off if you are going to go beyond your time,but the uncertainty is the actually finish time?
Last letter could be 2.00/2.30/or maybe 3.00,there doesn't appear to be much help from the union,as they have agreed to RM'S vision of a standardised workplan/or normal working day.
The only solution i can see,is if you can get one or more of your colleagues to deliver some for you when it's a home game,and then you could help them out when,don't laugh,they play away.

Thought of this but if you supported my team, couldnt give away tickets towards the end of this season Still its my team and saturday afternoons will never be the same if the s**t its the fan . edit; non football fans will probably not understand how much some of feel about just being there, even if your team are complete shite

Thought about this option but my current round is a "deep rural" i.e. it would take someone else from another round at least 30 mins to get to the calls and then another 30 mins to get back...just woulnt be accetable to anyone!!! As for cutting off, if the hours of duty are later than 2pm finish then finishing on time would not help !! Think we are well and truely stuffed..this is the main reason why I will be voting a big fat NO to the new agreement !

i fully understand your passion,although if i'm being honest,i can't see a no vote solving this issue.
How sympathetic is your manager?,could you approach him,and say you are happy to work till 3pm through the
week,but not on a saturday,many people need to be finished early through the week to pick the kids up so it's
swings and roundabouts.
