Ok Been with royal mail just over 2 years, and decided it wasnt for me. loved the job itself but had enough of the arsehole managers and grief that comes wih it, so decided to look at another career. Ive now been accepted into the Royal Marines, and start my training soon, and really looking forward to it. anyway, just a message for everyone, stick in, and dont let they bastards win. good luck

PT is a joke opened my pay slip there woo hoo 150 quid! thast jsut over 500 a month .

Do they still do the prc course?, i did that when I was 16 and passed but later decided marine life wasnt for me, That course was one of the hardest things I have done in my life good luck mate.

Good luck mate. Did 6 years in the Corps. You,ll love it if you can pass out. Just keep you head down and trap shut. You,ll be fine but very knackered as its most likely the hardest thing you,ll ever do.All the best

Judjing by the ex Marine on BBC's Panorama a fre weeks ago who couldn't do a walk inthe specified time you've probably got yourself a less strenuous job, and higher pay, earlier retirement age and better pension too.
Have they got many vacancies ?

Judjing by the ex Marine on BBC's Panorama a fre weeks ago who couldn't do a walk inthe specified time you've probably got yourself a less strenuous job, and higher pay, earlier retirement age and better pension too.
Have they got many vacancies ?

To get in first you need to do a 3day selection course called the prc at lympstone devon, this is VERY HARD and only around 40% pass and go onto the 30 weeks training, then you have 8 months of hard as nails training and then off to be shot at in iraq or afganistan, me thinks royal mail is a piece of piss compared to joining the royal marines.

Hard as Iron are the Boots, and crazy to go with it. One of the few regular direct entrant forces that the SAS rate. They don't like them but they do rate them.

Good on you mate the Forces life aint for everyone one but if you follow the advice of dean07 which is basically "Mouth Closed and Ears Open" you can't go far wrong.

Yes, very hard in some respects no doubt, but then no door to doors, no dogs, proper early starts some mornings, foreign travel, time off for sport, a smart uniform, .....................
In fairness, all jobs have their good and bad points.
