You push a packet through a letter box , only to find that when its halfway through it gets stuck, you cant pull it out ,so you have to push harder to get it through. And dont you just hate it even more when something gives way on the inside of the door and your packet just seems to fly in...And dont you just hate it when the customer comes out and says "youve just broke my letter box" OOPS!

Yes happened to me a few times over the last 35 years. I always point out , that if there was no obstruction on the inside I would not have broke it . The problem seems to be , these brushes on the inside. They are fitted to high up a lot of the time , so when you put the mail through , you are pushing the mail down , not straight through as you stand above the letter box. Hence hitting the edge of the brush frame and if you have a mag or something heavy , bang it pops of.

I find there's a point of no return, usually when the packet is firmly wedged in the letter box....then it takes all the strength you can muster to get the thing through the box...luckily I havent failed yet....though the packaging has on a few occasions.

I love it when i've got a packet which you think is just going to fit and no more, but you just know its going to go through when there's a rabid dog on the other side just waiting to give you a hand

Packet went thru the door easily enough, up to a certain point, when for no apparent reason it just stuck. Dog on the other side grabs the packet while i try to pull it out. Well it ripped in half and porn dvds, stockings and marital aids were strewn across the hall. Funnily enough the old guy who lived there never seemed to hear me ringing the doorbell for weeks afterwards.

TBH I never have that problem because of a great size difference

I normally get it in without much problem but i have over 20 years experience, as a postie of course
